crescent bend nature park

I went here to look for birds. It is a wonderful place for that, a very natural setting with some nice wide trails and lots of habitat for birds, including a creek running by. Access to the creek is a little difficult though. There is also a set of feeders for birds with a blind so that you can observe. No birds at the feeders when we were there though. Saw several people with their dogs. Probably wouldn't be a good place for young children though. There were really no grassy areas.

Checked this park out for the trails. Very nice walking paths and maintained. There is a bathroom at the beginning of the trail and parking. It is a bit isolated, so you may want to being someone to walk/run with. I enjoy the quiet and lack of people. Sometimes I see a deer, more often I just hear them.I always see some birds. I normally go in the evenings, so better nature viewing is probably in the morning. The evenings are still hot, there isn't any lighting so walking after dark is not recommended!

I like that there is another park in the Schertz area but I think that it should be made more user friendly. I can't see doing anything in this park. It needs better trails and more access and parking. I like the nature aspect of it but it needs to be made more family friendly and safer. Good start though.
