Please visit downtown texarkana and have fun.The beautiful restored Perot Theatre, located in downtown Texarkana at 3rd and Main St, has been a landmark since 1924 when it opened as the Saenger Amusement Company's "Gateway to the West" theatre.Fully restored by the City of Texarkana, TX in 1979-80, the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Native son H. Ross Perot, through the Perot Foundation, contributed much of the restoration costs in memory of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel Ross Perot. In recognition of this contribution, the Texarkana, TX City Council renamed the building - The Perot Theatre. The theatre annually hosts the Perot Theatre Series, as well as numerous rentals throughout the year. The Perot Theatre is owned by the City of Texarkana, TX and the Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council is contracted to program and manage the theatre.

Anytime you can get the box seats go for it! The Box seats are a lot more spacious and there are typically 4 seats in each box. The angle is a little different viewing everything but the room that you get is worth the trade. Beautiful decor and excellent venue. Brings back a feel of the 50's / 60's. The stairways are a little narrow so be careful if going up or down them.

Been visiting the Perot with my family for over 30 years! It's just beautiful! We've enjoyed everything from magicians to musicals and ballets! If you are able you should definitely find a way to make it there! I plan to share the experience with my children as well!

Most of the classic theaters I have toured from the early 1900s were Egyptian Revival or Egyptian Art Deco, but this amazingly restored theater that opened in 1924 is in the Italian Renaissance style. Beautiful gold leafing, relief plaster, Greek Deities and historical displays in glass cabinets upstairs. An amazing Broadway class theater is a hidden gem of the south!

Texarkana's Perot Theater was part of the Sanger Theater chain that had theaters throughout the South dating back to the 1920's. This jewel of a theater has been beautifully restored to that period. It was wonderful to be able to recently attend a Pops Concert in Remembrance and Thanksgiving by the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra which featured the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra as well as Chorus and Dramatic Readers with patriotic selections in a salute to America's veterans. This very well done Patriotic Celebration had special meaning to me since both of my parents were World War II Veterans. Finally, I just want to mention that as an ex-New Yorker who had season tickets to the Philharmonic over the years, Texarkana's Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the Marc-Andre Bougie, provides world class entertainment to those fortunate enough to be able to attend!

Several types of events are held at the Perot. It is a very elegant music stage where concerts and symphony music is played. Excellent seating, nice balcony, and bathrooms are very well kept.

After visiting the other few sights in Texarkana, Texas, this is by far the most fantastic thing that we have done in the area so far. We went to the Perot Theatre to see the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra play a Thanksgiving concert. It was phenomenal. For being such an old theater the music really sounded fantastic in this old structure. If you can go online and find a concert or a play of some kind to see in this theater, I would most definitely recommend it. I would also definitely recommend seeing the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra as well. My only complaint would be the fact that the seats are somewhat close together, so when you make your reservations for seats online, try to get your seats that are not close to other people. Some older, rude women behind us would not stop talking near the end of the performance. The funny thing about that was the fact that one of the ladies was actually IN the orchestra for the first half of the performance (we could hear her say that she wasn't in the second half) and then she hummed and sang and talked through almost the entire second half. I could not believe how rude she was to have been in the first half of the performance and then sat behind people who PAID to see the orchestra and she talked during almost the entire thing. My boyfriend finally had to give her the death stare because she was not going to stop. OTHER than the fact that woman was there and had no sense of common courtosy for other paying patrons, the Theater itself was a must-see if you are interested in theatre and good music. I definitely recommend this place for other visitors, or even locals, to make sure they see at least once.

This place is great for shows saw B.B. King there earlier this year and it was a great show. I really love the beautiful design of early to mid 1900's architecture. A must stop for people who like such things.

A beautiful fully restored theatre, unexpected in a town as small as Texarkana. A must see if you are visiting from out of town or local. They give free tours, that are very informative and interesting. Make sure you check to see if any shows are going on and get tickets, you will not be disappointed.

I love the atmosphere of this wonderfully preserved venue. There is not a bad seat in the house! If you see Cirque type show get balcony seats, if you are just there to listen to a concert doesn't matter where you sit the sound is fantastic! It is a wonderful theater and should be enjoyed by all!

We walked in off the street to receive a personal full guided tour of this magnificent old theatre. The staff dropped what they were doing to give us a free, very informative and passionate tour of this beautifully restored building. The enthusiasm shown by the staff and the historical knowledge which was relayed to us was of a very high standard. You cannot go to Texarkana or nearby without this theatre on your agenda, made special by our guide. If you were lucky enough to be in town during a performance (and they sound many and varied) then this would be a huge bonus.

If you are in town, they have tours on Tuesday - Between grants and a large Ross Perot donation, this theater is something to see- wedge wood title, carpeting from England etc.

This is a former movie theatre and vaudville house. H. Ross Perot sat in this theatre watching movies in the summer when he was a kid. Not too long ago he saw to its complete and beautiful refurbishment. It is a first class theatrical venue. Built with a proscenium stage and apron, a complete fly space and a full orchastra pit, it is entirely set up for modern lighting, electrical and sound systems. But, it still retains that massively ornate quality found only in the very finest live performance venues. Acoustics in the hall are outstanding. The Perot would easily be appropriate for "Phanton of the Opera."In the 2013-14 season, the Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council will present nine shows, including popular music concerts, dramas, a Russian ballet and two Broadway musical road companies; everything from the Vienna Boys Choir to "A Christmas Carole." In addition, the very fine Texarkana Symphony Orchastra will preseent five classical and "pops" concerts. The theatre regularly supports many other performers and performances during the year. The Perot may draw patrons from a potential market; anything in a radius of between seventy to a hundred miles of Texarkana.

This is really a beautiful theater, i have been to Broad Way and London's east end, and this is up there with them. The shows and and performances they book are very good, some can be a little over prices. Love the Christmas shows they put on (nut cracker)
