I use this trail mainly for a 5 mile run, which is what the distance is start to finish. Not too crowded during the week and weekday evenings. Can be more crowded on the weekends. I would recommend for running and walking or biking with kids. Not the most scenic place but that's not why I go.

At least once a week we visit this park, while wife walks I can run with 2 of my kids an the little one can skate, you can enjoy a down or up hill and flat too

My wife and I walked this trail a couple of times. Just right for a good walk. The path is wide, clean and well landscaped. Definitely recommended.

This walking path is well kept, but it still did not seem safe. I think it has something to do with the area in general. Waco has seen better days, still it looks nice.

My family started walking the Cottonbelt Trail as soon as it opened. At certain times of the year, it is pleasurable. However, with bicycles allowed on the trail, it really can be dangerous. Frankly in warm weather, the trail is very crowded and there just isn't enough room for strollers, walkers, pets, runners and bicycles. We opt to walk elsewhere.

This is a completely concrete walking/jogging trail that goes from the landfill to a housing community. It has some cool bridges in the middle and crosses one road. From one end to the other is about 2.3 miles. I checked this with GPS. It's a pretty safe place to go for a walk considering there is only one place you'll find cars (on a not so busy road crossing with pedestrian signs). The trail is very new and is almost totally flat except for where the bridges are which declines in elevation slightly. There are three places to park. One is right next to the city of Waco landfill the second is in the middle of the trail at Old Lorena road (bridges are visible from here) and lastly at the end of Harris road is a tiny park and a parking lot.I have been here twice and enjoy running and walking here. There are always rabbits to take photos of when we go here. Note: Bring water - there is no water available here. Additionally there is no bathroom nearby either. The hardest part for me was finding the thing! I read about this place online and wanted to go but my GPS took me to some place in Waco that has a road called Cottonbelt trail. Anyways, you should GPS Waco Landfill to find where to go.
