My father and I had not rode horses for years. (4 for me and 30 years for him) We said we were beginners and they gave us good calm horses. We were with another family who was at the same level as us. The instructor explained what to do in great detail. Our instructor explained the surroundings and history to us. It was great for people who have never been on a horse before or not in a while. I recommend doing the hour ride during the middle of the day. The hour usually winds up being an hour and a half. It is a great place to learn how to ride or ride for the first time in a while.

It's been years since the last time we had gotten on a horse, so we took a "beginner" one hour ride. Our horses (Max and Ranger) were wonderful and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was enjoyable and we saw some deer while out on the trail. All of the staff was very friendly. Can't wait to go back for another ride!

I was one half of two couples that went on this trail ride. We did the hour and a half ride at 2:30pm. The light was perfect, it wasn't too cold and our horses were full of personality. Most of us had either never ridden or had not ridden for years (over 15 years) so we were all beginners. Our guide definitely took that into account when choosing our horses. Mine was named Pancho and he was a little stubborn and tested me a bit, which was great! It made the ride more fun for sure as I had to push him a bit, but only slightly, to get him to so what I wanted. Our guide led us through fields, under and through trees, down and up hills, over a bridge and through a creek. It was a well rounded trail and we all were ecstatic to have done it. Overall a great experience.

Even if you haven't ridden a horse before give this a go!Located about half an hour away from Austin, Texas Trail Rides will take you through some beautiful countryside. I went with three girlfriends and none of us had ridden in 10+ years. The horses were gentle and placid. We did a combination of just walking and trotting, stopping to get some great pictures along the way. We did the 11am tour and finished in time to head to our guide's recommendation for lunch: the nearby Salt Lick, which was a typical Texan BBQ. Highly recommend that too.

Our family had a great time in the beautiful Texas Hill Country with sweet horses and a really laid-back and fun wrangler named Jessica. The ranch is amazing and the trail is relaxing and great for a nervous rider. One of our boys was anxious at first, but he eased into it quickly and had a great time. One of the highlights was going through a creek and letting the horses drink. They are sweet horses and the wrangler did a great job of pairing the right horse personalities with the riders.Two thumbs up!

We took a trail ride with Dan and had a great time! We don't ride very much but the horse were great and easy to ride. The trail is a great way to see some of the hill country and we even saw wildlife like deer and turkeys. Wish we had realized they do skeet shooting before we booked the trip, we would have definitely done that too.

We had a wonderful ride with Misty. Beautiful location, and an interesting ride. Neither of us is an excellent rider, but we've both had some experience and thought this was perfect. Had a greT lunch at the Salt Lick afterwards, and then headed to Wimberly to walk around a bit. A great day.

I'd never ridden a horse before and what better place to try it then Texas! My friend and I booked a 90min trek, the last thing we expected was to have our guide to ourselves. Our guide/wrangler was Misty, a young girl who'd practically been brought up on horseback! She was really patient, and made me feel at ease right from the start. The ranch was beautiful and the trek great fun. Misty took some photos of us down by the lake so we had some great piccies to show our friends! The ranch is approx 30mins outside of Austin and it doesn't come up on SatNav, so I'd definitely recommend following their directions; we got there with no problems. And if you want a good meal afterwards I'd also recommend the Salt Lick BBQ, just round the corner!!!

Thank you for a great ride at Lake Creek Ranch. Super wrangler and the nicest horses! It fully met up to our expectations. 1,5 hour passed way too quickly.
