bear river state park

Even though it was cold, we were able to enjoying viewing the bison herd and 3 elk with giant antlers.There was a fun tubing hill that the children and adults were able to enjoy. It was nice to have it prepared with parking where the parents can stay warm in the car while watching the kids have fun.

I love this little park. There are great trails, you get close to the Bison and Antelope, and its just beautiful there. The towns folk are very friendly and there are great places for picnics. I recommend any tourist visiting Evanston to stop here

We needed a quick stretch and stopped here on our way through. It is a nice visitor center and next to it is a small herd of bison. It looked like there was a nice picnic area close by too.

The tables and grills along the beautiful Bear River are perfect for a relaxing meal. Anyone with children will love to show them the bison and elk which you can see easily from the road.

We stopped here recently and enjoyed looking around in the visitors center and looking at the bison herd outside. A good little stop as you are passing through.

Ran from the hotel to Bear River SP. There were a few miles of paved trails to run on, all of which was along the River. We saw the bison in the park. Ran once in the afternoon and saw others, ran early in the morn and had the park to ourselves.

They have a small herd of bison( they aren't buffalo). They were wondering around and the babies were real cute,regardless of the fact that they are as big as a VW bug. There is also great picnic spots, and wonderful scenery.

If you're traveling along I-80 and need some time to rest this is a beautiful location. Lots of wildlife to see, a river that runs through and there are plenty of walkways, trails, playgrounds and picnic areas and restrooms to take advantage of.

Beautiful afternoon!! This was great little adventure for the nieces and nephews. They got to walk along the river and dip there toes in. The enjoyed seeing the wildlife and had a nice picnic under one of the pavilions. It was the perfect way to spend a relaxing Saturday.

bison and calves are wonderful to watch. also have 3 bull elk. nice walkway, you do have to watch for wild moose though

Great place to walk along the river. Beautiful scenery. Nice friendly people along the route. We saw deer grazing in the field. It was a wonderful time.

After our Meal at JB's we went to this little board walk with my kids and my dog. The only problem was that the sign for the board walk was a little to small so very easy to miss and to many mosquito.good thing that I had bug repellent and was able to walk the entire board walk.

This State Park is free. It has a wonderful path along the river, connecting to other paths which go on for miles. It has a herd of bison and a pen of elk. There are plenty of bathrooms, picnic tables, and benches.

We just enjoyed a great visit to BRSP. We made a quick trip to through the park and stopped at the visitor center to ask about the Mirror Lake Byway. The lady there was so kind & helpful. She highlighted maps and recommended some trails for us. She even pointed out a yearling elk calf that we'd completely overlooked. We drove back down, saw the calf, and walked the trails. In addition to their resident bison/elk we were able to see a variety of birds, rabbits, and moose!We enjoyed it so much that we didn't leave any time to check out the byway. This is an awesome park with a great staff. It's very dog-friendly and we'll definitely return soon.There's no fee, but donations are accepted.
