黄石里的大峡谷有两条trail,分别在南北,南边的trail可以下到半山腰看lower fall,还有artist point 可以观整个峡谷的日出日落,整个行程也不算辛苦,一定要去

Truly an enjoyable hike with an amazing view of the falls and valley. Take care of the edge, rocks occasionally give way and lives have been lost to that fact. Respect the land and enjoy its beauty. Truly worth the venture!

We enjoyed this drive with the spectacular scenery. It was most memorable and our photos will ensure we do not forget.

There is a loop hike that starts near the Wapiti parking area (just to your right after you cross the river heading towards Artists' Point). You can follow a trail past the upper falls to the lower falls (with a side trip down Uncle Tom's trail) to Artists' Point . . . and we continued out to Sublime Point. You can then return past Lily Lake and Clear lake, which also takes you past some thermal areas (this was our first stop on our visit - pretty amazing to see the river, canyon and a lake . . . only to then stumble upon hot spots). This was our favorite day of our visit to the park. Possibly only rivaled by the Old Faithful area."Hey bear!"

Rather than drive all the way to Artist Point, park the car at the upper falls viewing area, and walk the south rim trail there and back. Such beautiful views of the falls along the way, and a really nice hike. A few steep areas, but I wouldn't call it "strenuous"

Not quite a review of the main South Rim trail between the south falls view and artists Point as this can get busy. The best route to take is to continue from Artists Point to point sublime then branch inland towards clear lake. You'll loop back to the main car park eventually but along the way pass beautiful meadows volcanic features and stunning views of the canyon whilst avoiding the crowds. We took our time and the walk was about 2.5 hours and in the time we only saw 4-5 people on this portion of the trail.Take plenty of water if it is hot and a few snacks you won't be disappointed.

What a great long walk! It gets you away from the coach loads of the crowds of tourists waddling from their bus to the view point then back again. The views are well worth the walk. Just take plenty if bug spray, water and some food.

At the end of the Artist Point area is a trail that leads to Point Sublime and/or also a nice loop trail past a lake. It offers some gorgeous views and wildlife sighting opportunities as well as a chance to separate from the crowds. Take a water and your camera and enjoy!

Yellowstone absorbs the summer crowds pretty well, and yet the turnouts and sights most proximate to the highway can get pretty overwhelmed. I heartily urge you to take the 3-hour hike along the south rim and than back through the meadow to your starting point, which will also pass small lakes and smoldering mud pots. The canyon views are astounding and the hike will take you away from the throngs bottlenecked at the view spots. You'll find many great, quiet, private spots along the way where you can enjoy a picnic lunch. This is a fantastic alternative to the volcanic sights on the western side of the park and worthy of a half-day on your itinerary.

You will escape the tour bus crowd and see some great views along this trail. Don't miss Uncle Tom's trail.

This is a nice trail in the Yellowstone Canyon area. It gives spectacular views of the canyon that you cannot get from normal tourists stops and it is a nice way to get away from the crowds. You can make a nice loop by taking the Clear Lake trail through a small thermal area back to the parking area. One should be fit to take on this hike.

This is a great walk/hike with wonderful views of the lower falls and the Grand Canyon. We started in the Uncle Tom's parking lot and walked to Artist Point and back. The guide book said this was a four mile hike but it didn't seem that long to us, maybe 2.5-3.0 at the most? The trail is uneven at times with a few ups and downs; one switchback climb in particular required a little more exertion but overall most people should be able to complete the walk fairly easily. The views are fantastic and it is wonderful to be away from the throng of crowds that are at Artist Point and on Uncle Tom's trail.

We did this trek 1st in our tour on the south and north rims of the grand canyon of the yellowstone. We saw the rainbow just like in the picture. We also saw some ice/snow still on the side of the canyon. Although it seems like a lot, just take the stairs in small chunks. Down and back up in no time.

We did this with a toddler on my back in a kid carrier, a bit up and down, and definitely not one for a stroller. Great views of the Upper falls from the first car park, and a little further along, amazing views over the lower falls. We saw lots of chipmunks on the walk which was really lovely. A really worth while stroll of perhaps 1 - 2 hours depending on how much you do / how fast you walk / how long you stop for!

Loved this trail. It was not too difficult and got you away from all the tourists who only stop at the overlooks.
