As I wandered through the rooms of the gallery of found myself as intrigued with the architecture of the building as the incredible collection of art. You must check out the website to see the impressive list of artists represented here. The gallery specializes in 19th and 20th century art and I particularly liked the galleries Western and Southwestern works. The collections are so diverse that you feel like you are viewing an extensive private collection. The one-acre sculpture garden is a feast for the eyes and adds immensely to the experience. We visited in February and the garden was brown from the ravages of winter but the sculptures gave life to the garden. My husband and I were transfixed. I was told by a staff member that the gallery was at one time a farm house with the second floor as the residence and the first floor a gallery and although it has been expanded many times over the years, it remains a residence above and a gallery below which explains the warmth. The collection of art, coupled with the unique adobe structure makes this gallery an experience not to be missed.
I loved everything about this place. The sculptures are displayed in a beautiful and tranquil garden and there is also a very nice gallery inside.
I always make an effort to stop in and look at the art. Always a great selection of art on display. It's almost like going to a museum.
Please visit and buy if you can. Not only sculpture and Fine Art but exceptional jewelry too. Please visit the garden with a pond and beautiful platings. We were married there in 2010.
Art inside is very impressive and very expensive. The staff, even if they know you aren't going to buy, were friendly and helpful. The outdoor sculpture garden is the best I've seen anywhere, especially if you like sculpture of children is active poses. Check out the one with the cat on the limb and the kids climbing the tree. It looked so real we almost didn't see it as a sculpture.
This is an outstanding Gallery with world renowned artists. No junk, no trinkets - in an amazing old Santa Fe residence. The doors were worth the trip.
We very much enjoy and occasionally purchase fine. We stopped here for what we believed would be a cursory tour but quickly realized that this is a world-class gallery with many, many fine paintings and sculptures. We were not in the acquisition mode, but if we has been, we no doubt would not have empty-handed. And do not miss the back sculpture garden. It is truly remarkable.
Variety, quality, some of the masters, the wonderful historical building. One of the best galleries in the Southwest ...maybe in the country.
A visit to Santa Fe without having paid a visit to Nedra Matteucci Galleries is not a full fledged experience of having been to Santa Fe...the most unique galleries in Santa Fe. The buildings alone are unique and the Gallery in the Corner of Paseo de Peralta has one of the most unique gardens in Santa Fe complete with a Pond with Gold Fish.
We held our wedding in the gardens which were absolutely beautiful. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The gallery is just beautiful!!
It's worth a visit just to see the building and garden. The gallery is full of world-class paintings, pottery, sculpture and jewelry by well-known artists and unknown craftsmen. It's a museum-quality education in a classic setting. The knowledgeable, friendly staff will add to your visit. Be sure you walk through the gallery's many rooms to the walled garden. It's an unexpected oasis of calm and beauty.
High end art with really friendly staff. One of my favorites in Santa Fe, and there are a lot of galleries to chose from!
Great art in a classic old adobe with gorgeous gardens and a hidden pond. Really, next to Canyon Road, the most important stop for Southwest art lovers.
Great collection, very knowlegable and helpful staff, let us (3) see a piece that was not officially on display. The garden art pieces and water fall were excellent.
We stopped here on the advice of an acquaintance not quite knowing what to expect. This is a private gallery with works of art for sale, ranging from the low thousands to multi-hundred thousands of dollars. The place is laid out like an old Santa Fe style house, with little nooks and corridors. It was quite an experience to stick my head in what appeared to be a large closet and find a seven foot tall landscape that had me saying "Wow!" Outside there is a sculpture garden and koi pond which has to be seen, as well. We found the staff to be very helpful and informative, even though it was clear that what they were selling was way beyond my paygrade. As added bonuses, 1) admission is free; 2) there is a (small) free parking lot; and 3) they have no problem with photography.
