international ufo museum and research center

Nice to see that you can see on many places in Roswell signs of what happened (yeah, but what happened?) there in 1947. Aliens and UFO’s, also outside in a field they made carton boards of an UFO and the discovery of it, very nice done. The museum itself is not big but it’s filled with tons of information about the events that took place back then and of course the supposed cover-up stories. It’s nice to see and worth the detour if you're really interested in this 'alien' stories. We liked to see it, and the scenic driveway made it also worth it. Hwy 70 from Alamagordo to Roswell is really a beautiful scenic drive through the mountains and Lincoln National Forest. When you don't believe in it I don't think it's interesting to visit, but when you do......go and see it.

Just had to go, and the price was fair, but the majority of the "exhibits" were framed photos and tons and tons of text on the wall. My eyes wore out just skimming. There were also two very random "animated" things, and some really great alien artwork.

Roswell's UFO museum is fun because it's mean to be campy. Imagine a 1950s SciFi movie set. Visitors who expect it to be seriously scientific will be disappointed because it's not meant to be serious. I was actually not expecting it to be kept up well, but I was pleased that it looks lovingly tended to, with all the exhibits being in good shape. For only $5 it's worth the fun.

Of all the museums that I have visited, this is on the "more to read" side than others. However, I can't imagine a different way of telling the story because of the type of information that needs to be communicated. If nothing else, I am intrigued enough to continue reading and learning! They need a new sound system for the videos! The crop circle video was incredible!

The staff was unfriendly. Apparently their personalities were abducted by aliens. Too many signs saying don't. Kids thought it was ok for 10 mins.

Fleeing the collapsed economy in California and heading towards an uncertain future in New Hampshire, I decided to make the most of my "Reverse-Grapes-of-Wrath" journey by hitting visiting some fun places along my route. Tops on the list was Roswell's UFO Research Center and Museum. Bound as I was for the home state of celebrated alien abductees Betty and Barney Hill, I wanted to see just what it was I might be in for. My first surprise was that Roswell is also home to the New Mexico Military Academy, and as it was a fine November Sunday afternoon, the town was crawling with cadets in their smart uniforms. A second surprise awaited me near the museum in the form of alien streetlights. The city had replaced the tops of the streetlights adjacent to the museum with heads that looked for all the world like alien "Grays" -a very much appreciated bit of whimsy. The museum itself was quite interesting and quirky, with just the right amount of roadside kitsch thrown in for seasoning. I particularly liked the world map which located significant and well documented alien sightings and encounters. Lots of literature was available in the book store, but being an economic refugee, I had to content myself with reading dust jackets. There were plenty of dining options available in town, but as the poet once wrote, "But I had promises to keep/And miles to go before I sleep," etc. I highly recommend a visit here.

Loved some of the exhibits - the moving "Aliens" with the spinning spaceship was worth the $5 admission. But most of the museum is newspaper articles or reports simply slapped up on the wall for you to read. The gift store was great.

For all you sci fi fans a must. Some interesting military reports and news reports mixed with just fun stuff. Just go. Question but also laugh. Really enjoyed it.

It used to be the movie theater when I was growing up. They have really made an effort to put the information available to the guests.

By todays museum standards. Dated smultzie exhibits. 1/2 hour for $3 per senior. Ok.Mostly enjoyed the technology pf the 40's and 50's.

Finally in 2007 I was privileged to visit this museum and finally visit my pen pal Celeste Creel Bachicha Sosa. We have exchanged letters since 1978. Nowadays it is mostly on Facebook we Exchange.This museum is about the Extra Terrestrial creature who is said to have landed outside Roswell in 1947. They cannot figure what sex the creauture is and is 1,40 metres tall.

I love the history and the fun mixed with seriousness, especially the animated alien area right in the middle that 'came to life' every 15 minutes or so.

i liked this place. Cheesy and yet quite informative at the same time. They have captured a few dead Aliens and have put them on display. Make sure that you purchase something so they stay in business for future generations.

Roswell is one of those places you have to visit and when you do, you have to visit the UFO museum. The entrance fee is 5 USD, which gives you access to the exhibits and gift shop. Be prepared to read a lot! Especially the first half of the exhibits is very interesting - eye witness accounts of the crash, conspiracy theories, pictures etc. However, the second part of the exhibit (basically the way back out of the museum) was a bit too much for us (alien abductions etc). All in all a must see, after visiting we had a discussion about the incident and well, all the information provided here does make you think...

How could you possibly visit Roswell, NM and not go to the UFO museum? This is a campy, place filled with news article and affidavits of witnesses and others involved in the 1947 crash. Whether you believe or not, by the time you leave here you will believe that they believed. Worth the $5 admission ($3 if current or former military) for the pictures you'll take.
