This attraction is well worth it. Great for all ages. I am 64 and my granddaughter is 8 and this is the first thing we do every time we go to GA. We have season passes and go on average twice a week. Everytime we go on Safari we see something new. It doesnt get old
This is not worth anymore. Earlier we used to drive thru and it is really good but now they take you thru and not much fun at all.Now I see that it is more of money making business. If there is no queue then you can try otherwise skip this ride.
I am one of the safari drivers and I don't want that to sway your opinion. But, the kids just seem to love it. We take you semi-off road, where we are permitted to leave the roadway. There is a camp you can see animals up close and personal. You can schedule 3 hour private tours and feed the animals. My hint go first thing in the morning before the lines get too long. Not unheard of lines being 3 - 4 hours long, first time we opened they were close to 7 hours. 1 day for 1 ride crazy.
it was losing its funnnness when they locked up the monkeys and you could not feed them. Now you get totally different experience. its more like a wanna bee safari tour but I guess its better for the monkeys but not us. just get the speedpass and ride the coasters you hammer head!!
Move over Busch Gardens, Tampa. This ride gets you close up and I mean right next to the safari and to the window close up. You get to see animals roaming free and close enough to think you are on an actual African Safari. This is great for kid and adults, the guides are hilarious and very informative with the guests. Loved this ride, however, be prepared to wait in long lines, this is very popular, especially in summer. Make this one of the first rides to get on or last ride. Highly recommend.
The safari was a lot of fun. If you have not been there in awhile they no longer let you drive through. They have nice converted military trucks that take you on the tour. If there is anything I can suggest is that you should not get off at the little area they have half way through. It was a complete waste of time and we were then stuck there since all the other trucks were full. All and all just stay on the safari and enjoy the ride. It takes about 45 minutes.
Let me start with, I am an ANIMAL LOVER!! I purchased tickets for the annual Grape Adventure at Six Flags Safari. Its a wine tasting event paired with the safari tour. It was EXCELLENT! We interacted with a bunch of different animals. I fed giraffes, lamas, pigs, donkeys, miniature horses. Got up close and personal with a parrot, a barn owl and a chinchilla. All of this while sampling wines from different vineyards. It was the perfect day. Not going to lie.....I enjoyed the animals more than the wine. But the combination was perfect. I will definitely return again and recommend to any animal lovers (children or adults)
2 hour line to ride a really bumpy truck jammed with 30 people for less than 30 minutes. Waste of time and just not fun.
The lines are long but that is expected at most amusement parks. Unless you can really stay all day and plan it out, you can only get on a few of the more exciting rides. Shows are decent. Food is decent. Entrance fees per person are not cheap but parking was really high, twenty five bucks is a bit steep. The safari is now a jeep ride, you have to make your way to the back of the park and it opens later than the theme park. This isn't clearly explained so you lose time waiting for the safari ride to open. People just wait in line while others come late and rush to the front at the last minute. So after the ride opens, your ten minute wait turns into an hour as late comers crash the lines from the left.
This added attraction to Six Flags Great Adventure is a nice addition to the park, and what makes it better is that it's included in the park ticket price! They have a great variety of animals from around the world and allow you to disembark from the vehicle (you can choose not to, if you prefer) half way through the tour to walk around and see some animals up close and personal ~ you can even feed a giraffe or zip line, for a price. Then when you're ready, you get back on the vehicle and complete the second part of the tour. The tour guides are cheerful informative and funny. We really enjoyed taking an hour out of our day to experience this attraction!
Good variety of animals, the tour guides were very friendly and knowledgable.trucks were not bad, a little bumpy but to be expected
The Safari at Great Adventures is a great attraction for animal lovers, kids, and families. I myself enjoyed it because unlike the past when guest drove their own vehicle thru the safari, now Six Flags provides transportation. The vehicles are awesome, they are high enough to provide good views. Compared to the safari ride in Disney's Animal Kingdom, Great Adventure's is way bigger and covers animals from very continent (except Antarctica), it use to be a separate property. While Disney's only covers Africa. Despite the size difference Disney does a better job of landscaping and theming. Disney is also better organized and overall has more animals roaming free. Of course comparing Disney to Six Flags might not be fair. There are negatives. First is getting through security and the park entrance which is the longest and most disorganize of any theme park I've been to. Then the queue line itself is long and mostly unshaded. The other negative is Camp Adventura, which is located half way inside the safari. There is a gift shop, restaurant, a few animals, a deck for feeding giraffes and a zip lines ride. The zip lines is not worth the extra fee. Then you have to wait in another long line to get back on the safari truck. Camp Adventure is not worth the stop at the moment, perhaps when they develop more it will be worth stopping. Overall it is a good attraction, get there early make it the first ride in the agenda, animals are more active in the morning time and avoid the long lines. If you can avoid Camp Adventura, its not worth the stop or money. Bring a camera taking pics of the animals. Hopefully Six Flags can develop more.
We loved it! The off road adventure is awesome! It was like actually being in Africa. Just the right amount of time. The wait can be lengthy I heard, but we were lucky and got right on. Everyone should check it out!
This was so worth the wait. Way better than Disneys Safari in FL. Would highly recommend it. The wait is long but if you go first thing in the am making it your first ride than you should be good! So worth it for the kids!
I had great things about the safari park how cool it would be. We stood in line for hour and a half in 90 degree weather with hardly any shade. Two tents and water mister at the front of the line. I watched people pass out from being to hot also watched people jump the line. Got told by security that those people had a flash pass and that they could do that. That's not true when you get a flash pass you go in through the exit completely surpassing the line the people that are jumping the line are gambling that you don't know the difference. Staff is rude they seem like they really don't care. We took two kids and they had to sit in the middle so they couldn't really see the animals. The driver was in some kind of rush. We found out from another couple that when you take the tour your not supposed to see the other trucks our driver rushed so much that the girl couldn't tell us anything about the animals. Its supposed to take roughly an hour to do the tour I stood in line longer then the tour lasted I'd say because of driver it took him 20 minutes tops in fact when we pulled up at the end of the tour the manager said to the driver your back sooner then you should be next time slow it down. I submitted a complaint I have yet to hear anything back & I doubt I will seems that the owners of the park only care about getting money. The park as a whole looks out dated and poorly maintained the rides break down frequently the paint on the rides is faded and rusted. The animals didn't look to healthy but then again I'm not a vet if it was hot for a human I couldn't imagine what it was like for a bear or a lion there wasn't even shade for them. This place is waste of time and money. Don't waste your time or your money and don't complain because they don't care and it shows how much they don't care.
