I hadn't been here since the renovation, but we came back in the early winter for a wine tasting. After, we got a chance to look around again. This is a hidden gem in the woods, off route 9 in Galloway Township, NJ. The artwork is always interesting, with work of local artists set against a natural backdrop. Unlike many museums, you don't feel as if you're inside -- there's so much natural light and innovative lighting. The tiny gift shop offers crafts from local artisans, too, and it's always fun to shop there, It's more accessible now than it was previously, so that's great for older people. And the museum often sponsors events, like the wine tasting we attended (to support a charity for homeless families), arts and crafts classes, and more.

Although this Museum has been in existence for years, it has recently been bought by Stockton College. It has been expanded and even has lesson now. It is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. The exhibits are delightful and the shop has many fine things to purchase. Yes it is worth the trip.

I have heard from numerous people about the Noyes and have been wanting to go for the longest time. We finally made it there when the local wine/liquor store had a wine tasting a few weeks ago. What a peaceful place this is - if you haven't been I recommend it. The artist they're featuring now does mostly Western landscapes but each one made me feel like I was there and thirsty as hell from being out in the sun. I want to walk through again when I have more time, I didn't get to appreciate everything.

We enjoyed this amazing exhibit filled with wonderful old photos of years ago, showing old businesses, buildings, celebrities who brought back fond memories. There displays of hand made jewelry that would be a welcome addition to any wardrobe.I definitely recommend you get there.

The Noyes Museum of Art is located about 15 minutes north of Atlantic City just off Route 9. The Museum has 4 main galleries, as well as sculpture gardens, miscellaneous display spaces, art school space, lounge areas, a lakefront deck, and a nature trail, as well as a very nice gift/art shop area. The level of artwork represented at the Museum is always of excellent quality, and never ceases to have artwork that you have never seen before but which will always excite you.One of the galleries currently has a Signature Artist exhibit of over 35 great artists in a variety of mediums, and another has an exhibit that actually uses sound and noise to create an artistic and thoughtful representation. A third gallery has an excellent exhibition displaying the expressionistic Art of John Pierce Barnes.But it was the exhibition is in the 1st gallery that caused me to be moved to write this review. From all the way at the front desk of the Museum, your eyes are immediately drawn to a painting called Icarus by artist Victor Grasso. This collection of amazing themed portraits on a black background draw you right in. While some of the portrayals and compositions may be a bit strange, the artwork is so well done, and so well displayed, that this exhibit alone is worth a visit to the Museum.

The Noyes Museum is tucked into the woods near the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. Mr Noyes was a successful businessman, collector and artist. Mrs. Noyes collected folk art. I especially liked the decoys and the large Purple Martin Birdhouse "Palace". There is a pretty deck overlooking a lake. There were some local artist works on display that were beautiful. The building is unique. Thank you Mr and Mrs Noyes for a nice museum!

This museum and its satellite branches is a great place to buy local art. It's also a mecca and a pillar in the local community. There are numerous shows and events all year long. If you can join as a member, the money goes right back into building the local art community. Highly recommended!

My wife and I have visited the Noyes many times over the years pared with our trips to Forsythe and we have always enjoyed our visits. Do I love everything they display? No, but, that's art. I don't appreciate everything they have at the Met in NYC either. I like it's architecture and that they support New Jersey artists. The small admission price of $5 is well worth it. We'll be back!

The experience you get while visiting this small museum depends on the kinds of exhibits it features at that time. The museum has some permanent collection but usually mostly features temporary exhibits of local significance. In February much of the outdoors cannot be admired but only through the wall windows. Check the schedule of exhibit and visit often if you have interest in South Jersey art life. Do not go for an unrealistic grand museum experience but enjoy the whole setting. Best time to visit is spring and summer.

This museum was billed as a quirky and interesting place to go. After we finished at the wildlife preserve, we headed over to the Noyes Museum. We used an Entertainment Book coupon buy one/get one free ticket, but even at $5.00 I think we overpaid.The galleries are all very small. One was "in transition" meaning that it was empty. The central area was set up for a wedding reception that evening. I didn't think too much of the plastic chairs.There were some quirky art works, but after all the hype about what a hidden gem this place was, we were underwhelmed, especially by the sculpture "garden." You couldn't go out into the garden--you could only look at the pieces through slits in the side of the museum building!

Cute little place that had an awesome exhibit at the time. A hidden gem in South Jersey. Can spend an afternoon- maybe 3 hours there. wooded surroundings with picnic tables and nature area so you can pack a lunch.

This very pleasant museum operated by Stockton College is north of Atlantic City, just east of Route 9, near the Forsythe Natural Area. It had about 3 or 4 exhibit rooms, showing art of mainly local artists. There are nice sitting areas both inside and out overlooking a small lake in the rear. They have a small gift shop. The museum is open daily, but you should check the times in advance. Admission is $5, 4 for seniors, but when we mentioned AAA, the rate was only $2 per person. A pleasant visit if you are in this area.

Slightly off the beaten track but deserves a visit. Easy parking. Very welcoming and helpful receptionist. Several spacious galleries with high quality exhibitions the day we were there - "Enduring Brilliance" and the stunning Stan Sperlak landscapes in particular.Nice outdoor area overlooking the lake.Small but varied and good value gift store area.The somewhat inaccessible and disappointing sculpture garden is the reason for the dropped star.
