I arrived on a Sunday afternoon during New Hampshire vacation week. The parking lot is spread over multiple levels. We parked at the top with the car on a 30 degree angle which made getting out challenging. It was cold and windy and snowing lightly. I ski the beginner trails only so I think a better skier would have a 5-star experience but they did have a good variety for beginners. The charge was $18 for adults. Not sure if their rates went up or they charged more for vacation week. They had nicely groomed trails and a neat warming hut that you can rent out for overnight. The "lodge" had some wonderful smelling food and a nice warm fire. Next time I will plan better so I can take advantage of those but I had no time as heavy snow was forecast later in the day so I wanted to be home by then. The trails are well marked and there are some wonderful view and some magical place where the wind in the canyon (maybe) makes a howling sound. Did I mention how much I liked the warming hut? I recommend chemical hand warmers if you have some as it is rather windy and my hands froze. The place is charming and some campers with backpacks had stayed the night in a tent no less. There are trails for all abilities. If you do not live in the area the drive can be long on back roads but then again sugaring season has started so you can always watch for tree tapping to amuse yourself.

Had a great day skiing at Windblown. Nice facilities, fabulous snow, beautiful groomed trails at all levels of difficulty. What a great day out in the monadnock region. Great xc within an easy drive of Boston. Get it while the snow is good!

Everything in this place is really affordable. Food, Rentals, Lessons and the trails were all great. Staff is very friendly and each time I've been there I found the trails in tip top condition.

Varied terrain for all levels of skiers. Great lessons. Rental Equipment. Family friendly. Grooming is outstanding. Great views at the top of the mountain. What more can you ask for!

great family activity when lots of options are not available in winter. Trails range in difficulty and there are plenty to choose from. Generally well groomed. Tails blazes and maps are easy to follow. Some of the easier trails can get a little overpopulated on a nice weekend.. Rentals are available. There is a snack area and picnic area. We have rented one of the warming cabins out in the trail area for an overnight. We cooked on propane and they brought cans of water in.There is only an "out house". It was fun and different to be skiing by ourselves by moon lite. The cabin can accommodate several people so get a group of friends together.Parking is sufficient.

Windblown is a great spot - close enough to Boston to go for the day. A lot of easy and moderate trails - good for different levels of skiers. Very well groomed, it was a bit icy today, but they had groomed the trails well, so it was fine. They had good coverage of snow, even though just a couple of miles away, most of the snow had melted. Check their website to see if trails are open, you might be surprised! Nice lodge with fireplace and wood stove to warm up at - chili and soups and sandwiches. I am partial to the windblown cookies! very friendy. Enjoy.

The grooming is top notch and the terrain is perfect for building confidence in beginning skiers. The trail system offers many choices for varying levels of skiing, with the more challenging skiing being towards the mountain. The flat greens to get into the more challenging trails give a great warm up. We go several times a year and always find trails we must have somehow missed or didn't end where we thought they would. My 7 year old's favorite trail is Moose Meander, it goes down down down then he can just take his skis off that one biggggg hill to get back up to the warming hut (complete with woodstove)Windblown's baselodge has a wonderful warm lodge with plenty of space to change into ski gear. Baselodge because it's not quite so big but it's in the fashion of a downhill lodge, a rarity in x-c. There are about a dozen tables to eat your lunch. You can buy a huge yummy cookie or a muffin, hot chocolate as well as some lunch offerings. All while you warm up by the full hearth fire or the woodstove. The children particularly love the piano and watching other skiers from the window.

This cross country ski area is conveniently located at the southern NH border making it easy day trip from Eastern and Central MA. The trails are expansive with something for every level of skier. It is also pretty spread out, so much so that you can find yourself alone on a trail for quite some time. The main lodge is a comfortable resting place and they offer a great selection of home prepared foods. The warming cabin out on the trails is also a great stop for a rest and a snack. Round all of this out with a friendly staff and well maintained trails and it really made for an excellent day adventure.

A local and friendly X-C spot. Trails are great for a 1/2 day, beginners, kids, etc., but for a challenge or fully day, may want to head north.

I've been skiing at Windblown for years. The trails are spread out enough that you have some peace in the woods. All are well groomed and there are varying levels of challenge. The staff is friendly and informed. Here's hoping next year is a great winter and skiing will be great.

Great trails, fantastic grooming, wonderful base lodge for heating up, getting food and getting ready for the next jaunt.

Windblown is a very nice place to learn to cross country ski, and / or snowshoe. The trails are well marked, there are maps available, and its very easy to distinguish the trail difficulty from the info available. The woods, ponds and mountains are beautiful. My wife and I tried our first day on both snowshoes, and X country skis. The lodge is also very nice, with fireplace and lunch counter. There are several "warming huts" throughout the trails, which are quite nice for a break , and to get out of the cold. The rental shop is fully equiped, and the folks working here are very nice and helpful. I have returned twice already, and plan on going many more times.

Three of us went skiing there today and enjoyed great conditions. Of course, the conditions are not in the control of the Windblown Cross Country Ski Area. The things that ARE in their control were well done. The skies were in very good shape. The poles and boots were also in good shape. The staff was junior but they were friendly and knew what they were doing. The facility is clean and pretty new. The fireplace was warm and inviting. The food was homemade and pretty darn good but a bit pricey. It was a fun time!

I have been to Windblown many times, when ever i have been the staff has been very friendly and the trail tickets reasonably priced. The trails themselves are very well groomed, and the trail network is large enough that on a very crowded day you can still find places to ski where there are very few other skiers to get in your way. The only negative is the parking, on its more crowded days parking can be tough for cars without 4 wheel drive since often you must drive up a very steep hill to park, and more than once i have had to help other drivers get their cars unstuck. Overall i think that windblown is a fantastic place to ski, my school team goes there on Fridays once there is snow on the ground.
