One might almost miss it since its located down an alley towards the end of a street. The little yellow sign, and the orange and red paint do make it stand out, if you are looking. It's a small venue, with a bar and kitchen, and a few tables and stools. Looking around you'll see memorabilia, art and other trinkets. Earth Eagle Brewings specialize in sours but that's not all they have. I loved when we first walked in and a tall bearded local holding up a growler looks at me and says "This is some great beeya." Then proceeds to get a refill. While most of my party weren't partial to the beer, I enjoyed the variety, complexity and flavors of the brews. If you are looking for inexpensive sampling, this is not the place. At $11 a flight I was a bit skeptical and really hoped it was worth the cost, and I was not disappointed.Their flights have generous serving sizes. My top three were: Crabapple Ambrosia, Nocturnal and Anarchist. If you do not like sours, or licorice or are not adventurous at all this might not be the place. But with friendly and local brewers who love what they do, and innovative beer, to me this is definite a must visit. Also, part of the same complex you will find A&G Homebrew Supply. I picked up some yeast for my hard ciders while there.

Great little spot with excellent beers. This is a microbrewery, so dont go there expecting something fancy. But you should expect great beers and great service! The staff and products will not disappoint!

You can get a sampler which includes 6 different beers. They were not my cup of tea. My daught4er and husband liked a few of them. I did not. Tiny place crowded and very loud. they had Puca which is a seasonal cu5rry pumpkin porter with run soaked coconut and thai chiles. A little strong for me. They had Erebos a sour black gruit with berries, anise and sweet gale. It was too sour for me. They had Samsquanch which is pale gruit sweet gale, thistle and dogwood aged berries. My daughter liked this one. Shepherds crook wheat malt with New Zealand hops, nelson, Motueka and green bullet. Then there was Them Bones. It actually contains meat, Burdock root, galangal root, Sweet gale, salt bush, prune juice and local beef. The last one was engine joe 8 lbs of port city roasted espresso coffee chocolate malt and falconers flight & simcoe hops. As I said not my cup of tea

Great little hidaway and good beer but service is terrible. Not sure if they're only looking for their hipster friends or if you can't order without a beard but the bartenders seem to look right through you. This is based on several trips and others have said the same. It's a huge turn-off. If they would just make more of an effort it would go a long way.

The bartender is awesome! My husband knows and loves beer and he thought this was one of the best in the area. I am not a beer lover however after purchasing a flight of 6 small glasses I wanted to keep going! The bartender was key! He explained each one and how it would taste to the palate and what it went well with. Gruits are amazing. We also shared a small meat/cheese platter which was very good. Very small place but so much fun.

Great little brewery tucked in a hiding spot. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and the brewery is located about 100ft from the hotel. The have a rotating section of in house craft beers. They have a small menu available and we enjoyed all of our choices.

Unique brew, irie vibes. It was probably one of the best stops of the weekend. The Gruit beer I tried was made from a plant root. I felt like I was back in Negril Jamaica drinking the shaman's special elixir. I highly recommend EEB. Great spot for beer in the summer.

It is a small place and off the beaten path. For those who can find it it is well worth the effort. They have taken the concept of a micro brewery in a town loaded with them and managed to really stand out. Trading in all the glitz and glam of there contemporaries for a modest tasting room and a quality beer. The brewers also break away from traditional styles and ingredients often as possible. Insuring that even the most experienced beer enthusiast will find something new and unique. Even those who don't usually enjoy beer can get something tasty.

Tucked away off the street it was a little tough to find. The beer was decent but the ability to get large samples is great. Ended up walking away with a growler.

We visited Earth Eagle Brewings on a recent trip to New England, and I'm so glad that we did! We always make a point of tracking down small craft breweries in any city that we visit, and Earth Eagle is the epitome of an independent brew operation. There are two brew masters - one who uses hops, one who does not. That partnership lends itself to a varied tap menu with some really fun options. Our favorites this time around were the Curry Porter - deep, spicy, and delicious; and the Angus Mac Fergus (Supah Tart!). I wanted to go back again later in the week to see what else they'd tapped, but we couldn't make it this time. We will definitely be back to Earth Eagle the next time we're in the Portsmouth area!
