Antique shops up and down both sides of the street and in close communities. If you like antiques, you can easily kill the day.
More antique stores than anyplace in Minnesota: only had time to visit half the stores, including two consignment-style malls on Main Street in Crosby. There are several cafes and restaurants, plus a great coffee shop and the drive isn't bad to get a look at a small town in Northern Minnesota that gave birth to the Iron Range.
Not much to see, most of the shops were closed. Most of the items picked over. But it was too cold to do anything else!
We went to Crosby, MN for a trip to Rabbit Lake with friends. The lake was great. However, downtown Crosby, MN had very little to offer. A park and lake in the center of town was very nice. Excellent playscape for the children. Went to an ice cream/fudge shop across the street that was also nice. That is about it. The antique shops and downtown are desolate. Many empty buildings. It could be a quaint lake town, and may have been at one point, but it looks as though it is struggling to get by. For those staying in the area, it does have a nice liquor store, grocery store and hospital/emergency room (hopefully you will never need).
