Beautiful any time of year. If you are brave you can even walk out a little bit closer. Beautiful pictures can be taken from the paths & overlook. Nice quiet little park. Hardly anyone ever here. Peaceful!

Vermillion falls is a nice local hiking spot. Nothing challenging but provides nice views the falls and you can climb around on the old building ruins. Good photo opportunities.

We went to check out Vermillion Falls while we stayed in Cannon Falls. It was pretty cool to experience. It was moving fast and we took some fun pictures. There is a unique building behind too that was fun to look at.

The falls in their natural state are ruined by the fact that there is a giant mill all along the opposite side of the Vermillion River, although it does give some sort of erie out of place feeling with the towering mill walls looking over the falls, which is kind of cool, but if you are into total nature, probably ruins the falls for you. The falls are pretty big and there is a nice river gorge below them running for quite a ways. There are very nice trails through the park and a bridge crossing the river gorge a little ways down from the falls that could be scary if you are afraid of heights. A little farther down the path from the bridge are the old ruins of a mill once owned by Ramsey which Ramsey county was named. Overall, a very nice park.

After a busy week, we enjoyed a couple hours leisurely walking through part of the park and seeing and hearing the falls. We were amazed to see cats across the falls and on some very steep ledges. We walked the wooden footbridge and saw people fishing below. We also took the car to the opposite side where the ruins are as well to see part of what we missed. Too bad, vandals end up putting graffiti in some of the areas that spoil the view and photo opportunities; however, the park was patrolled a couple of times too while we were there. Mountain bikes can follow the trail but you could miss the intricacies you see while walking. Would be beautiful to see in every season!

What a great little spot if your going through town.it's right off the road and just an easy walk to get to observation area.

These are beautiful any season of the year with many trails short or long for biking or walking. Picnic shelter on grounds. Tucked right off HWY 61- not crowded, but sandwiched between two industries. Bonus: stop at the Hastings Dairy Store a block away for a chocolate shake to eat on your stroll

Picnic, walk, trails, bike ride or just taking in the falls. It's quiet enough to relax in and big enough to not feel crowded. Nice set of trails to connect with other parks in town too!

The vermillion falls is a stunning waterfall to see but even better, there is a nice park with rambling trails and a footbridge to cross the river. The remains of an old flour mill are visible at the end of one of the trails. Nice way to spend an hour.

Vermillion Falls is located near the center of Hastings inside of Vermillion Falls Park on the corner of Vermillion Street (or Hwy 61) and 25th Street. It is short walk from the parking area to the overlook for the falls. If you are near the Appleby’s and the giant ConAgra mill then you are close. The waterfall used to be used for powering the giant mill next to it on the river bank.I went to the Falls on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and we had a good time looking at the falls and hiking the Vermillion Walking Tour. The Falls are great and it was very interesting hiking along the river bluff. I was amazed how high the bluffs are and learned there are no fences or guard rails from keeping you from falling. Don’t walk around at night as is not always easy to see the edge with all the high grass (or just stay on the paved hiking trail). You get a great view of the cliffs and the river from the walking bridge that spans both sides of the river. Continue on the path until you get to the cool old Alexander Ramsey Mill Ruins.Overall I enjoyed looking at the Water Falls and hiking along the river bluffs. The entire hike is only about a mile on a paved trail so it was easy. If is f you are staying or passing through Hastings I recommend you stop at Vermillion Falls Park and take a look at the falls and walk down to the old Mills ruins.

What a great little park right in town! You'd never know this was even behind the trees in this little park. It's got a great path and you can even go to the top and sit right by the water. Bring a picnic, there are a few picnic tables and grassy areas.

This is really a review of the hiking/biking trails in Hastings. Miles of trails that wind through woods and along the river. Vermillion Falls is one of the stops along the way. There is also the lock and dam as well as the foot bridge that goes over the 70 foot canyon of the Vermillion river.

If you stop in Hastings you should take the time to visit Vermillion Falls... bring your camera! it is on the Vermillion River, adjacent to an old, still operational flour mill. The falls are off Vermillion Street, access across the street from Applebees. The falls are exceptionally beautiful after rainfall. There is a park area for a picnic and a bike/walking trail that winds through the area. Be sure to cross the trestle to get a view of the river and the ravine it winds though. The trestle is safe to cross and offers a good view. Hastings residents are aware of the 'falls' and visitors hopefully will be glad they made a stop. The bike/walking trail allows stroller and wheelchair access to the area and the trestle view, however it may be a little hard to get to the overview to see the falls up close.

It was quite hard to find. All the residents knew just where it was and said "You couldn't miss it." After an hour of searching we found it. It was next to the mill. A break-taking 10 feet tall, it stretched over fifteen feet from bank to bank. The search for it was more memorable than the falls.

The park has a nice covered picnic area, with a short path to view the falls. We then headed up the path to the bridge. Lots of greenery, and lilacs in the spring.
