This park is not large nor overcrowded. The sites are of ample size and has a swimming beach in a small lake . Boat launch is available though I prefer my canoe and kayak as lake rarely is rough due to size. There are larger lakes for boating and fishing near by. The new Agate center is very nice and informative. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Mid week booking is fairly easy, weekends are usually filled rapidly. Can be booked through State Park registration system

We actually got here too late to get a site, but the person in the office was very helpful in getting us a place in the Moose Lake City Park.

I love this state park at Moose Lake, it's got agate collections a wonderful beach and picnic area, campsites are great. I really wish this state park has camper cabins- there is plenty of room down by the lake for 2 or 3. It would be a great addition. I usually stay at Jay Cooke because they have the cabins, but I think I may just have to tent it to stay here. I love that you can rent canoes and life jackets as well.

Our Boy Scout Troop stayed in two campsites on our way to the BWCA. The sites were level and had a table and fire ring. We arrived just in time to make dinner and setup our tents for the night, so really didn't see much of the park. The shower house was pretty nice and had ample space.

My wife and I went to the park for the day. It had recently rained, so some of the trails were muddy. The staff was polite and helpful. The Agate center was worth the trip alone. We caught some Crappies from the lake and had a picnic. All in all a nice day-trip.

I have kayaked and hiked in this State Park for years and it is a gem that most that travel on I35 fail to stop and enjoy and really it is worth a stop. The park has picnic and camping locations located next to a wonderful smaller lake. Quite and located next to the town of Moose Lake it is a wonderful place to get away from it all without feeling unconnected to the world. The lake (I feel) to kayak in the early morning when the mist comes off the lake and you can see and hear the nesting loons. If you don't have a kayak or canoe the park has both for rent for the day and it has in the past been a wonderful family outing. Nothing like kids learning to work together paddling a canoe...A memory that lasts a lifetime. Stop and make some memories of your own hiking the trails, fishing, or watching the loons dive for fish.

I came to this state park to hike the trails from a hiking book that I had gotten. When I came there was a fair amount of biting flies and mosquitos. Fortunately I brought insect repellent. The hike was about 4 miles and wound through some woods and finished up by the lake.It was so peaceful out there. Highway 35 was kind of close but the woods blanketed most of the sound. The lake seemed really clean and they had a nice swimming beach. The campgrounds seemed really nice and quiet as well. The only major downside was I saw no actual moose.
