civilian conservation camp camp 707-f14

I have visited here several times over the last 20 years. Even when it was pretty run down it was interesting just to imagine what conditions were like back in the 1930s. In more recent years the locals have made an effort to restore some of the buildings and give informative tours. This is a real slice of history..NOT an amusement park version.

This Camp is remnants of old buildings and walking trails in the woods where the camp once stood. Brochures will tell you all about the interesting history of what the camp was all about. It actually held prisoner of war once.
