I was born and raised in Warroad and worked summers at Marvin's in the hardware store. In the afternoons Clark Gorham and I would go out to the shop and bind and put the mailing address on the bundles of sash and other woodwork. I am proud to say I am from such a vibrant town. Made that way by the Marvin family and company. The visitor center is truly a joy to visit. So well done.Chuck Green

Marvin Windows has virtually kept Warroad alive and well for years. Their sense of fair play and genuine interest in their employees is remarkable. I met so many people who had really good thinks to say about the Marvin family and the company.

Really well-laid out. Experiential learning about how windows are made paired w/ the history of the company and the area. Worth the visit.

Considering this is a private museum, funded by Marvin Windows and free to visitors, they have every right to brag. Deceptively large, the museum is new and modern, with tons of hands on and interactive displays in its spiral layout that are interesting to both adults and kids. We drive through Warroad almost once a month and my 6 year old son BEGS to stop there every time! (might have something to do with the free souvenir--little pieces of wood that fit together) Sure, it's a shameless boast-fest about the Marvin family, their manufacturing and marketing prowess over decades in business, and the incredible company that keeps the town afloat... But really, who can blame them? And to their credit, they don't gloss over the challenges they have faced--how they successfully resisted the union movement, and of course the devastating fire retold on video complete with real smoke smell, sirens, and red strobe lights in the mini theater. In a rural area where most of the entertainment comes from the great outdoors, this little gem is worth checking out. Whether you're just passing through or looking for a change from the hunting and fishing scene, I highly recommend the Marvin Windows Training and Visitor Center. See the museum and maybe you will be given a great talk by Karen Hontvet, one of the Marvin daughters about the up's and down's of the company. Very nice displays and exhibition in a great building. Gift shop on the premises. Recommended.

We went to Warroad for about 24 hours for a concert at their casino(which ended up being outdoors, but that's a different story). We had a few hours to kill before the concert and this place was still open. For the first time in 15 years my husband and I visited a museum without children. We had time to read and actually learn about the Marvin Family who are very important in Warroad. We were very impressed with the informative displays, the cleanliness, and the staff at this museum. I recommend it to anyone visiting or even just passing through Warroad. It is free, so even if you can't stay long, it is worth a stop.
