Today, public school was canceled. My daughter met her friend and her friend's mother at Fort Frenzy to spend the afternoon while I went to a doctor's appointment. It turned out that the advertisement of an hour's worth of activity for $11.95 didn't equally broadcast that it was only available Monday-Thursday (today is Friday) and only after 4:00 pm. The attendant explained that they adopted those restrictions so that kids would have to do their homework before coming in to have fun. We pointed out that there wasn't any school that day, and asked if the deal would be honored. They said no. After some discussion, we decided to pay $15.95 for each girl to have TWO hours of access to just the non-arcade areas. After all, my friend had agreed to watch my daughter during my doctor's appointment, and we had sorta promised the girls time at Fort Frenzy. We asked if they could use one hour now, and save the second hour for use on a later date. No. It had to be used up today or forfeited. I left for my doctor's appointment and the girls started playing. When I returned an hour later, the girls were completely bored, and my friend was annoyed. It turned out that Fort Frenzy had rented out the skating rink to an organization that was holding a business meeting, so they couldn't go skating at all. There was only bumper cars, mini-bowling and laser tag (and the other girl didn't like playing laser tag). Of course, the outrageously overpriced arcade games were available ($2-3 per game) but even my 10-year-old daughter recognized that they were way too expensive to spend the extra cash I had given her (just in case she needed it). When I returned, the two girls were bumper-car'd and mini-bowl'd out, and pretty upset. I tried to get them interested in mini-bowling again, but the ball return wasn't working on two of the lanes. I told the attendant, who promptly radio'd for help, and then we waited... and waited... after quite a while, an annoyed employee turned up and fixed the system. No apology. No time added to our time cards for the inconvenience. In the end, I played a game of laser tag with my daughter and some other kids, because she had never played laser tag before. It was a nice set-up, but the rules/operation of the gun and suit weren't explained to us. It seemed like, once you were hit, you couldn't fire for a certain period of time - I wasn't sure when my suit was ready to attack again. I also have no idea how the scoring was kept, so we didn't know who "won" the game.My opinion is that Fort Frenzy ought to pay attention to the public school schedule. Those are their opportunity days to get kids in the door during the afternoon hours. Don't schedule meetings in the skating rink on those days (the school schedules are posted at the school websites)."Tricking" people into thinking there is a one-hour deal (but only under certain small print conditions) doesn't foster trust with your customers. Just because of that trick, and the indifference expressed by the employees, I plan on never returning to Fort Frenzy. It was overpriced and underwhelming.
I have been to Fort Frenzy multiple times since they opened in the winter of 2013, and I can say that each experience was unique and enjoyable. My first time visiting Fort Frenzy was for my sister’s 14th birthday. It’s difficult to impress any kid at that age, but everyone who attended the party had a blast! I would highly recommend this facility for birthday parties. Fort Frenzy takes care of all of the decorating and uses a party captain to help direct the party and get everyone excited. Since then my sister and her friends have made Fort Frenzy a regular part of their weekend routine. They love going to the skating rink and hanging out in the arcade. It’s also made Christmas shopping a little bit easier this year since I knew I could just go and get a gift card to Fort Frenzy.I’ve also been to several of their special events, such as their Frozen movie night, where they played Disney’s Frozen in the skating rink – They even had the princesses to sign autographs! – and their 5th of July celebration. All of these events have been well managed and maintain a family friendly atmosphere, which can sometimes be difficult to find in Fort Dodge. The staff at Fort Frenzy is very friendly and helpful! Whenever we have had a problem they took care of it right away. There are even a few favorite staff members that we look forward to seeing every visit. Having to manage teenagers at my own job, I know how difficult it is to obtain and maintain that standard, but the kids of Fort Frenzy do a wonderful job representing both the company they work for, as well as their community. Good food, great service, and very reasonable pricing. It has something to do for all ages - even my nephew, who was three at the time we took him, was able to do laser tag and their Spin Zone without a problem. It can be difficult to find something to do in Fort Dodge, especially something for the whole family. Fort Frenzy is the breath of fresh air that this town needed.
Fort Frenzy. The place that all the kids of Fort Dodge love. The arcade is so much fun, mini bowling, spin zone, and lazer tag are just incredible. But the skating center, omg it's amazing the lights and the music. Not to mention they have a 5 star staff that interact with you and help you with everything you need. The cafè has really great food also.
My family and I visit here often. We love to skate and my son loves laser tag. Go Karts are the best but it's only open in the summer. There wasn't much to do in this town, but now there's always a place we can go if we're bored. If you don't want to see a movie and it's too cold or hot outside, it's a great place to visit. The prices aren't too bad. We go about once or twice a month and spend around $50. It's great for us.
I go here every once and a while and have a great time in skating and playing the games love playing the arcade games on half off day every Tuesday. I can't wait intill go karts opens back up
We've been waiting for something to do in this town and fort frenzy was hopefully gonna be the answer. Turns out it's quite an expensive answer and I wouldn't say it's worth it. I suppose if I'm really dying to play laser tag or something, it's a quick fix but I sure wouldn't blow my whole wallet there for a full day activity. It's just okay.
This place is the most boring place ive ever been to for fun other than the laser tag and go carts. the bumper cars are the worst in iowa.
prices are too high for families , it is a very fun place to go!!! I would make sure I bring extra money.
Kid Fun and adult fun to, from games to laser tag to roller skating and bowling this place is sure to be a family favorite. But everything cost money that u buy and put on a card so u can play the games and things. Can get a little costly, but still a great time.
My family and I came into town to see family and heard about this entertainment area that was built in Fort Dodge so we decided to try your facility. I doubt it really matters my opinion because we are from out of town but I just wanted you to know that this was the worst facility I have ever been too. There was not enough staffing to get on all the rides you had to keep going and finding someone to give you access to a ride. We waisted over 100.00 dollars there to buy 2 hour passes for 6 people we didn't even stay the full 2 hours because we were so upset with the place. Then your staff was really rude, lady managing the bumper cars was using a mean tone to the children when they were asking questions, the guy with the dreadlocks was one of the rudest people there he did not want to be at his job and it showed over by the go carts. So paying for a 2 hour pass is a waste of time especially if you are always going to be short staff because you waste most of your time going to find someone to let you on a ride. Skating is a big joke I am a registered Nurse and I can't see how you can run a skating rink like that, I am surprised not one child broke their arm in the the 15 minutes I spent on the rink. You can't lock the wheels on the skates so instead you chance kids breaking bones and injuring themselves and WHY??? According to your staff they stated its an insurance issue but I have never been to a skating rink where you weren't allowed to lock the wheels so kids can enjoy themselves especially with the skating walkers, those are POINTLESS if you can't lock the skates because all you do is fall backwards and there you go you got an head injury. This facility is a huge joke and just like every business in Fort Dodge you will be out of business because you don't know how to run a business. Worst thing to spend my hard earned money on.
Lots to do at Ft Frenzy. You can opt for one activity or pay for a package of activities, which include mini-golf, bumper-bowling, go-carts, laser tag, bumper-boats and roller skating plus an arcade. Plan to spend the whole morning or afternoon.
