Great selection of apples, gift shop, best fresh apple turnover! I had cinnamon ice cream served over my fresh warm one. Took home apple cider doughnuts. The apple cider icee is good, too.

Every fall we stop at this orchard to pick apples. The orchard is located in a beautiful valley…the entire orchard can be viewed from the parking lot. You can walk out to pick apples and other fruit, or you can ride out in a tractor-pulled wagon. After getting your fill of apple picking, stop into the store for cider, apple turnovers (served with vanilla ice cream), jellies/jams, and many other delicious treats.

We have been visiting this orchard since my children were very young. They absolutely love running around the orchard, taking a tractor ride, having a turnover and a doughnut. The apples are varied and delicious. They cost a little more than the grocery store but we enjoy the outing so much, it's worth every penny.

This was our first trip to Wilson Orchard. The area is lovely this time of year. The drive in from the highway is breathe taking for Iowa. Great parking as you enter. A panoramic view of the orchard is just out your car window. The smell of home made apple turnovers fills the air. Your kids will enjoy the overall experience. Dad might enjoy the piping hot turnovers but don't expect to buy coffee with it. The lady said: This is an apple orchard we have "cider only". I thought hot coffee on a fall day with a "fresh" turnover. . . . . oh well. I saved my $3.75I'm sure everything is very tasty, However: bring a thick wallet. We felt their apples were a bit expensive. That doesn't mean they weren't good quality, just seemed high priced for the area. They certainly know better than I what the traffic will bear. Again. Everything is lovely until it's time to check out. :o) This is a matter of personalities, but we didn't feel the employees were very helpful or friendly. But that is subjective. Maybe you wouldn't see them that way at all. It is a run & jump, fresh air, family type place to visit.
