hagley museum and library

4 of us visited on a brisk spring day, midweek. 2 of us had been to Hagley many times, the others were first-timers. Our timing was not the best - most of the outside exhibits were not "operating " and Eleutherian Mills was closed for renovations. A recent heavy snow left the paths soggy and the Brandywine was ready to surge over its bank, I have never seen the river so high! But our intrepid tour guide Elaine provided the best commentary I have experienced there. I learned some new facts, and our first-timers want to return in warmer weather to see Hagley in all its glory.This is a jewel of a museum and should not be missed.

Hagley Museum and Library is defeinitely a family attraction. Besides fun and educational parts, it is fun for kids too as they see what life was like tor people in nothern Delaware not so long ago in terms of time - but eons away in terms of items we take for granted like electricity and central heat.
