A great place to bring your kids. It's a very nice outdoors hangout spot for anyone. Love the walkway! Lots of friendly people.
This park is part of every kid's dreams! It is within walking distance of the Little Debbie Bakeries Store, so you might stop there first, tells history of McKee Bakeries, the parks biggest supporter. Best maintained park in the country, across parking lot from the Collegedale Police Department.
I took my 6 year old twin boys to visit the Imagination Station playground and park in Collegedale/Ooltewah. I had heard nice things about this playground for years and finally went to try it out. We went on a busy Saturday and the parking lot was packed. We found a spot but it was over by the library. Not a far walk but not in the main playground parking lot. There was a family reunion going on under the picnic area. The Playground is large with handicapped swings and baby swings and regular swings. It has a bunch of cool different climbing things and elements. There is also some old train cars that the kids can look at and play on. There also seemed to be walking trails one of which went under the road in an underpass and came out the other side of the main street I believe. We did not venture down the walking paths. The bathrooms were pretty clean for a park. The picnic area is not that large and it was completely taken up by the family reunion that rented it. So if you plan on bringing a picnic bring a blanket in case all the tables are taken. There is some shade at this playground which is great. They have a long bench on the backside of the playground in the shade where parents can sit while the kids play which was nice. The playground is not super contained so if you have kids that wander or run away there is a worry about them going into the parking lot or down one of the walking paths. It is right next to the police station so I don't think you have to worry about this park not being safe. Mostly very nice families come here.
I loved playing here as a kid and my sisters did too. And i plan to take my son here when he is old enough to play. Its a good, family-oriented place. And the walking/riding track is a nice bonus as well. ;)
Great place to take the kids to expand their imagination. Science made fun for the whole family. I moved here a couple years ago, and it helps bring your inner child to life.
I live in Chattanooga, TN. My mother use to take me and my little brother there after school all the time. It became one of my favorite places as a child! Now I take my niece and my nephew there when i babysit!! LOVE IT!
This has got to be the best park I have ever been to. We took our granddaughter there and now she wants to go every time she visits. It is clean, beautiful and so many uniques little spots all throughout the park. The play ground is the best I've ever seen and the little ponds, walking trails and creeks are just lovely.
Alot of time, labor and money went into creating this playground. Simply, best I've seen.. ever..Great place to have birthday parties for children as well.
Really a nice little park in Collegedale. Very easy to get to it. Right behind the library. From the park it is an easy walk to the Veterans Memorial. Very moving. Kids can see a tank and helicopter with other exhibits. A nice 10-15 min easy walk will get you to a nice pond where the kids can feed the ducks.
This playground is amazing. It is all wooden or composite and there are lots of little cubbyholes built in, which my toddler-aged son loves to crawl around in. There is a small area specifically designed for very small children, with a slide and swings and a few little play areas, but the main play area is also very appropriate for young children who are closely accompanied by an adult. There are at least 3-4 slides in the main area and a few little surprises tucked here and there, such as a "telephone" echoing system, and steering wheels. I like that there are plenty of picnic tables and benches scattered around, some shaded bench areas up in the playground, and it is connected to the Collegedale Greenway where one can walk or ride bicycles. There are clean public restrooms, a pavilion, and the library is right next door. My only complaint is that there is not enough parking sometimes, and there is not a good place to leave your purse safely.
Huge playground and pic nic area. Miles and miles of scenic bike trails. Great area to fly a kite or tech your child to ride a bike. Rhe playground is huge and sturdy. It has sand all around and kids can build sand castles. This is my favorite kid park. Also there is a train you can view. Thw library is next door. Also a bakery and small restaurants. Great family time place.
