This had to be a labor of love and can't be given true perspective via pictures or videos. The state has closed the attraction from formal use but we took the leap really enjoyed this unique attraction. Kids will need supervision climbing through very stout construction with exception of the bottom floor decking that was exposed to regular weather. It will take you a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to see.
A great place to spend some time exploring. Many many steps to different levels. Climb to the top and see forever.
This was a great unique local attraction, It was closed by the Fire Marshall, considered unsafe There has been a petition to reopen, which has been denied
We were the only people on the property when we arrived and after some discussion decided to go ahead and jump the fence to get closer to the tree house. We spent about 30 minutes climbing and exploring.....there were some spots that made me nervous, but in the end I'm glad we did it. If you are anywhere near the area, this is well worth the detour to visit. It's very easy to find from the highway and there was only one other group of visitors the entire time we were there.
This place is incredible. The craftsmanship and the detail are really something to see. It's a shame the state and local government don't want this place open for the public to visit.
We jumped the fence to take a look. Left a donation and climbed to the top. Admired the hard work and took a swing in a lawn chair. My son recalls seeing it on the show "Treehouse Masters" with Pete Nelson. Even more impressive in person
This was a scary endeavor, to jump a fence and walk past signs damning you to jail. It was worth it. We went on a Monday morning in November and there was no one there. After watching many scary movies, I would occasionally get brain flash that some scary thing would be behind the next turn, but overall it was eerily peaceful and amazing. I didn't go all the way to the top, but my partner in crime did and the picture is gorgeous. This is well worth the risk and your adrenaline just adds to the memory!
Jump the fence! We went to the very top and the view was amazing! Just watch where you step... And don't forget to try the swing!
Totally unique. Go see it and hop the fence!!!! Worth the time and effort.....I was a little nervous as we went Friday Morning, but no one was there and place was empty.
This is AMAZING! The treehouse is the largest treehouse in the world and it has dozens of rooms and like 10 stories of interesting artwork and history.
We went twice this weekend because I forgot to drop money in the box the first time and the owner definitely deserves a donation for this awesome place. You can spend an hour here exploring the "treehouse." You can climb to the top and ring the bells and don't miss riding the swing. There is a new no trespassing sign (a government sign; from everything I've read the owner wants to share this place, which is a church) but thankfully that doesn't keep everyone out. It certainly wasn't crowded, though. Maybe 10 other people both times we went. The place is sturdy, but not for small children.
We and few other couples went for it... Owner is nicest guy... If you pass this up, you'll REGRET IT!
While the tree house may be closed, we decided to jump the fence along with many others who have written reviews. It was a dark overcast day so it was a bit intimidating, the tree house is massive and being two girls, we worried that perhaps there might be squatters inside. The tree house itself is located at the end of a country road. There are recent No Trespassing signs that have been posted but it seems as though the minister himself doesn't mind visitors, as he has posted his own sign inside the gates discouraging sex, alcohol, drugs and vandalism (trespassing not mentioned). The tree house is 97 ft tall, 4 levels with 80 rooms. There are a couple shack like structures beside the tree house, but we did not venture into these. If you're thinking of going - just do it! It is best to go in a larger group - safety in numbers. Had we had more people with us we probably would have stayed longer and felt safer. We traveled from Canada and this was definitely the highlight of our trip!
The tree house is closed with a no trespassing sign posted. If you drive up the dirtroad where it's located, you can only see a small glimpse of the top of the treehouse.
After reading the reviews about it being closed, I am so glad we decided to venture inside anyway! Not once did it feel unsafe or structurally unsound. I hope it is someday re-opened to the public. For those that visit, please don't forget to show your appreciation to the owner by dropping a donation in the secured donation safe. Incredible!
