grandaddy's farm

This is my 3rd time going to Grandaddy's Farm. Our first 2 times were amazing, however, our 3rd year back was..depressing.The staff seemed uninterested & bored. I came with my son's kindergarten class. We had a small gathering about the 5 senses, and then were left on our own. No greeting for our hayride. No excitement for the pig race. No "Thanks so much for coming! Have you all had a great time!?" No nothing. The staff literally disappeared. It had rained earlier in the morning, and several of the slides were wet. No one came out to dry them off. They eventually dried out after several children slid down them.The food... Again, I remember them having great food. We bit the bullet & ordered the $3 slice of pumpkin pie & a chocolate turnover. The pie was flavorless & dry. The turn over came from a frozen packet--to the microwave-- and they sprinkled powdered sugar on it. I'm a sweet-a-holic, but I took one bit & threw it in the trash. It tasted like freezer burn.Our kids had a great time on the bounce blob, tire swings, and corn pit. However...It seems like Grandaddy's farm has gotten too comfortable, as if each school is just obligated to go there, but let me say, as a PTO mom, I will be researching other pumpkin patches next year and making recommendations to our school. The facility is excellent, but the staff really soured the entire visit.

I took 3 of our grandsons and the 3 hours we were there just flew by. This farm has taken old tractor tires and found the most innovative uses for them. Huge pipes are used for slides and swings. There is a massive moon bounce that can accommodate a lot of people safely. The food served is reasonably priced and good sized portions. I had the barbecue topped baked potato and couldn't finish it all. There are so many different things to do and acres and acres where the kids can safely run from one thing to the next. There are pig races and a hayride and just the nicest employees you could ever want to meet. Maybe the best thing is that adults can do all the activities the kids can but you should probably take a kid or two with you just for kicks! ;-)
