The museum is on a historic sight where a legion of B-17 airmen trained during WW II, out of sight of enemies on the coasts. The museum contains lots of personal memorabilia from local vets, from several wars. This uses local names and events to link national historical events, a useful teaching tool! Maybe folks from outside West Tennessee may not "get it", but anyone with an interest in past warfare should visit and see a slice of history.

These people charge two dollars to go to the damn bathroom !!! Ugh!!! That's ridiculous. Will not be back.

This is the place to visit in West Tennessee to gain insight into the sacrifices made by airmen flying B-17s in WW2. Great assortment of WW2 items, original artwork from Dyersburg Army Airfield. Don't miss the Norden Bomb Site storage lockers, WW2 history and the annual airshow. This museum is worth the visit.

The staff is great. The museum is on the former Dyersburg Army Air Base that trained B-17 crews during World War 2. If you are looking for a personal experience with WW II this is the place for you. The museum has great artifacts for its size. A great day trip on the way to Memphis or going North. Well worth your time.

This is the very place where so many men trained to fly the B-17. The annual air show is worth the trip, but make sure you visit the museum.

The Veterans' Museum at Halls is first rate. Though it is small, the museum has expanded to nearly 9,000 square feet, and it makes for a pleasant afternoon of learning, and/or remembering our people in uniform. The museum is located on what is left of the old Dyersburg Army Airbase. (The name may throw you, since Dyersburg is about 12 miles away, and Halls, even then, was located right at the base. Probably politics had a hand.) The facility was a B-17 bomber training base. Today the museum is loaded with photos, uniforms, pieces of equipment, letters, maps and more - not only to the World War II crowd, but to all U.S. veterans since World War I. It's a nice treat to see. There's not much left of the old air base itself. A portion of it was also used to make a local airport for Halls, named Arnold Field. The museum is usually open Saturdays through Tuesdays, from 2-5 p.m., except holidays. Other times can be made by appointment. The best route to the museum is off U.S. 51, just north of the Tenn. 88 overpass. The museum can also be accessed by Tenn. 88 into Halls, or off Tenn. 210, north of Halls. Just look for either museum, or airport/Arnold Field signs.
