To say this was fun is such an understatement! This was the most awesome time ever. I purchased the 3 lap ride along with a pro and then 7 laps on track myself. The staff on site was extremely friendly and I had 9 family member show up to watch and share the day. I couldn't stop smiling for days after this experience. FUN, FUN, FUN...!!! I would recommend this to anyone. If you don't want to try driving yourself, then do the ride along. Friendly drivers and I was thrilled with the laps we made. Pro driver cars will run approximately 150mph, cars you drive yourself run approximately 130mph. Again, this was a GREAT day, so much fun. Can't wait to go back next year and do it again. The only thing I saw that possibly could have been handled better (and this did not lower the fun of the day AT ALL!!) was handling the firesuits. Several individuals in later sessions went in and got firesuits prior to their driver meetings. This left a few of us waiting in the room for firesuits while drivers sat in driver meetings wearing suits. Again, I only mention this as possible area they could control a bit better. But that being said... 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars!!!!! My wife purchased this as a gift for me, best gift ever!!!
I purchased a 10 lap "Shootout" for my husband and Man! Was he ever pleased! After going through the 30 minute class, he suited up and waited his turn to race. My husband was a bit nervous the first lap, but with the spotter's encouragement, he got his speed up and was able to safely pass several cars on his 10 lapsThere was a lot of waiting, but there were chairs available and it was definitely worth the wait.We will be coming again, and I will drive also!!
More intense and exciting than I ever imagined. Wish I would have done more laps and also driven with a professional driver before driving myself, but still a wonderful experience.
This Rusty Wallace Racing Experience at Nashville SuperSpeedway was given to me by my wife for a birthday present, she wanted to give me something personal that was just for me. Boy was this the best experience in my life. I grew up watching my father and uncles race dirt tracks, and I have watched most if not all the Nascar racing series. I always wonder would I really have the guts to hold the speed. Now I know how hard it must really be to drive these cars and have 42 other cars out there with you. I did the 3 laps with a pro first and that was a blast, but than I got to drive 10 full laps alone. I did have the guts but not the talent LOL! I didn't lose it but I wondered a couple times around the corner if I could hold on to it. The spotter was wonderful, since there was only one other car on the track, he let me go up into the pro's line a few times, but as soon as the pros got on the track he let me know to go down to the other line. The only draw back to this all was that we drove a few hours up and spent the night before in a hotel, the next morning the fog was awful and they cancelled my noon time but didn't let us know until 10 am and we were already there. The good news is they let us come back at 1 pm and I got right into the driver's class and off to the race I went! I would love to do this again sometime, it was all worth the time delay and trip here.
I arrived early for an 11:30 am reservation. I did not get my ride-along experience until 1:30pm. There was no one to direct you to where you suit up, or tell you which line you should be in: there is a line for ride-alongs, and another for people who drive themselves. I wasted 30 minutes in the wrong line. I had paid for a video of my ride, but only one car had video capability, and it was out of gas. It took forever to get it gassed up. You would think that gas usage would be an element that was anticipated. I paid extra for a side-by-side experience where a second car raced along side my car. This car never appeared, and this aspect was left off my experience, but, after two hours of standing on hot asphalt, I wasn't about to say anything that could cause a further delay. They were grossly under-staffed and very poorly organized. On the positive side, the driver could not have been nicer, and the actual ride-along was a once in a lifetime experience. I am very glad I did it, but just wish they had been better set up to provide the services their clients had paid for. I would still recommend it, but be forewarned as to what to expect, and how much time to allot for it.
I have now driven at the Nascar/Mario Andretti Racing Experience and at the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience and I have to say, the Rusty Wallace Experience was hands down a much better experience. The briefing was informative and fun, the equipment was good, the cars were good, but the best part, obviously, was the drive. My spotter was very attentive and patient as I got familiar with the track. Then he was motivational as he allowed me to really drive the car. I had a blast!!!! I will definitely do this again! Thanks for a great time!
As a gift, I was able to attend the Rusty Wallace Experience at the Memphis Speedway. And what a gift this was! First I got to do a "ride along" and was able to see how the professionals would cruise around this circuit. Most awesome indeed! Then I got to drive the track for myself and I sure was no professional about it, but I better understand how they might feel during their race. The laps went by so fast that I didn't realize it was time to stop until the checkered flag was waving and the radio was giving me instructions about how to properly slow down and get onto pit lane. I am very glad I opted to get the video of my experience so I could study it and share with friends. I posted it and then comments have been really great that my friends know what a great time I had.Now I don't want to say everything about this was perfect. There was a general lack of organization for checking I or getting to the driver's meeting and then about going for the ride along. And that really wasn't awful -- some things just stood out more and my awareness was heightened because of being excited to get going! This is not a cheap experience to purchase, but that doesn't mean it didn't meet the expectations going in. The price-to-value is off the charts and when one considers everything going into putting on the experience (personnel, safety equipment, operation of the cars, track rental) and the WOW! feeling after your time is all done.Really the bottom line is: Would I do it again? And the answer is a resounding YES! (presuming I had the money).
The first impression was not so great. The lady checking people in was grumpy on this day and seemed very stressed. Chase Austin did an awesome job in the driver's meeting! My car's radio was not working correctly, but it seemed all anyone cared about was getting me on the track before it rained. I finally pulled in before my laps were completed because the radio was distorted and I could not understand the spotter. A lady with The Rusty Wallace Experience asked me how my experience was and I said I could not hear the radio. She said "oh" and walked away. If you are not going to address negative comments, don't bother asking me about my experience! On the positive side, I was surprised by the sense of speed in the corners! I did give the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience two opportunities to address my concerns before I posted this, but I did not hear anything back from them.
This was not my first time driving a car with Rusty Wallace Racing Experience but one of my most fun! From my arrival at the trailer for registration ( hello Breanna !), the training session with Sandy, the pit crew tending to the drivers and the cars, everything was great ! The weather was great and the cars fast.I started with RWRE at Oswego short track in July last year and I got hooked !!! Then it was Michigan International Speedway in October then Talladega this year on March 30th then Nashville this may 4th. I'm currently working on getting past the 200 laps mark this year...What brings me back ? The friendly staff, the quality of the training and the cars so you feel confident driving at speeds updwards of 160 mph you wouldn't dream of achieving on the public roads... I am definitely going to come back this year !!!Mario Ouellet
I cannot say enough about my experience at Nashville Superspeedway with Rusty Wallace Racing! The staff was very professional but also courteous and friendly. I am ready to do it again. Thanks to all the personnel who made this birthday so special!
When I saw a Groupon for the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience at the Nashville Super Speedway, I KNEW I had to get it for my husband, Terry. He has always wanted to drive a real Nascar! The day started with him taking a class for about 45 minutes. During that time, I watched people getting in and out of the cars with big smiles on their faces. I could hardly wait to see Terry's grin! He slid into the car, stopping long enough to get a photo I had bought, then he was off! He went his laps and I could hardly wait to see the video I had ordered. When he was finished, we rushed to the stand to check out the video SD card. It was messed up! But all was not lost...the wonderful staff insisted that Terry get to drive another car to make sure he got the video I paid for! So...he happily jumped into another car, got another photo, and sped around again. I can't tell you how much i appreciated the excellent customer service! Terry's video is on YouTube and he LOVED every minute of his driving experience. I loved that I finally found a gift that made him smile from ear to ear!
The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience was a gift from my wife for our anniversary. It was a great day on the track. I first did the ride along with a pro. I asked him to show the line and where to brake or lift so I would see how it is supposed to feel. Even with that demo it was a fast ride and well worth the money. Now it was my time to drive. Once strapped in driving down pit road to enter the track was surreal. It accelerated real fast by the end of pit road I was going about 90 mph. Once on the track straight to my race line then lift going into the back turn and on to the tri-oval. Back on the gas to the floor rev limiter is tapping then lift at the entrance to the turn. The car just about steered itself. Each time it was like a dance, I did not even tap the brake. It was so smooth and so much fun. Thanks Rusty Wallace Racing Experience for a great weekend on the track. Look forward to doing it again.
Start off by saying my wife got me this driving experience as a Christmas gift. I set up my first session to be on April 28, that day it rained so it was cancelled. Brianna called me though with plenty of time before I was supposed to be there. She instructed me that I just needed to pick another time to come. So they had an opening on Thursday May 1. The track at Brooklyn MIS is huge and when you arrive it's definitely an awesome site. From the registration, to the class, and to the track the staff and representatives of Rusty Wallace Racing were outstanding. I did opt for the ride along which I highly recommend. The driver shows you the track and the car on how to drive and handle the turns. By far one of my greatest experiences. Don't wait and check it out for yourself.
First time driving a racecar north of a go cart. I did the Ride-Along & the Driving. Both were great. Not a cheap adventure, but well worth doing. Maybe I'll get to go at it again someday. On the down side the radio communications were terrible. It sounded like my spotter was standing right next to a roaring engine in the pits. When he wasn't getting drowned out there was lots of static. There was no record of your times or speed kept for you, which is pretty sorry in this day & time when thousands of marathoners can be tracked for hours to get their time. Even though I was in the first group of the day @ 8 Am it still seemed a little disorganized. The instructor was really good, Sandy. I followed here instructions & it made for a great experience on the track. Within a couple of laps I was pegging it down the back stretch & hitting the marks on the track discussed in class. What a rush.
I bought the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience for my Husband who loves cars and has driven his own car on the Nashville Super Speedway. Once we arrived, we decided he needed to add the Ride Along Experience (with a professional) to get a feel for the track and we added an additional 4 laps to his experience. In total he drove the Nascar 10 laps at the max. speed of 155 mph. He loved it!! Would highly recommend this experience. Everyone with Rusty Wallace's group was professional and courteous.
