You can view cheese curds being produced, family oriented, wonderful yummy cheese! The worker was so nice and friendly and full of information about the dairy farm and cheese.
First of all the selection of cheeses are awesome. Taste and quality is simply delicious home grown product and produced on site. We have been buying from them for the last seven years, quality and freshness all the time. You will not be disappointed. They also have cheese curds including locally home made bread some times.
What a great place for the family to visit! Check out the cow's on the grounds and the free samples inside the shop! If yoy call ahead, you can find out more about the tour's available! We just love their cheese selections!!!
Just off the main road is a great cheese shop you would love like I did! One of the few places that you can get award wining cheese at the same place that has the cows on site. Cow to consumer right here. They have over 20 kinds of cheese and one of the few places that you can get curds! We tasted at least 12 cheese before we chose Garden Blend Cheddar. The staff was helpful and I wish I had stayed for the tour, maybe next trip.
We arrived excited to see the farm and cheese making only to find out there are no tours after October. Without the tour all that is left is a gift shop. Their cheese that they produce and sell is delicious
Saw the billboard on the interstate, hoped off for a side trip to taste their products. Nice large property with farm tours available. Tasting station in the store, large selection with honeys, pepper jellies and breads. Enjoyed the stop and brought home the cheese. Would go again and they ship.
We live locally and go to the Farm for good cheese. We love the variety. Cracked Black pepper is my favorite. I usually buy the off cuts if they're available. Not so pretty, but just as tasty. I use them at Christmas for out of town gifts. We're told, they'll take the gift of cheese again anytime. The reserved cheeses are great. You will not be disappointed if you make this slight detour off I-75.
We come by here once or twice a year and it is always great. Many samples out to try if you don't already know what you want and the cheeses are excellent.
Family owned farm and cheese factory. You can schedule a farm tour or just stop by to watch them make cheese. The cheese is amazing, especially the curds! They have a gift shop and hand dipped ice cream as well.
We come through here about once or twice a year during our travels. The best time to visit is around the spring time, when they make cheese curds. So yummy! I stock up on these.
Opportunity to see cheese being made, sample and buy from their wide selection of cheese. And, the ice cream is delicious. Friendly staff, clean and enjoyable.
Date Visited: Saturday, August 23, 2014Pros: Lots of cheese, free samples, other food itemsCons: A little pricey, wish we could have taken the tourThe farm is located in Philadelphia, about 10 minutes from downtown Sweetwater. They have a small store that sells jams, honey, cookies, crackers and of course cheese, and cheese curds (try some-$7.95!). They also have free samples of cheese which I like because you can try before you buy. The cheese is a little expensive (between 7.50 and 8.50 a pound) but the other food seems pretty well priced. They have Honeyberry jelly! Unfortunatly, we couldn’t take a tour because it was threatening rain. They have a barn with “The Udder Story” but its not very big and not very interesting. Hopefully we were mistaken in hearing from the video that they don’t let their cows out to pasture… it would have been nice to see the farm working. It’s worth a stop if you’re in the area, but be aware of the forecast.
We stopped at SVF on our way back home from our day-trip to The Lost Sea. We saw signs all over the interstate, and since the Mayfield Dairy Farm was closed for tours, we decided to give SVF a try. When we arrived, we went into the cheese store area where you could taste practically any flavor of cheese and buy other merchandise. It was not a very large area, but enough. There was a big window so you could see the processing area of the plant-which was really neat. We never saw any signs or any information regarding taking an actual tour like the pamphlets advertised. There is also a huge event barn available for rent on property that is really nice. We purchased some basic farmer's fresh cheese and some italian-pesto cheese, both of which are great! We love to support local farmers!!!!
Wonderful selection of cheeses....Family farm and cheese production...friendly staff...sample the many varieties of cheese...all delicious. Watch cheese being made during production times. One mile off I-75 exit #68, 30 miles south of Knoxville, TN. Worth the trip.
Fresh cheese curds! Still warm! Plenty of cheese samples while you watch cheese being made. Super friendly staff. The adobo cheese is awesome
