The market square area has so many great local restaurants and shops. A great place to spend time and have a meal while you are in town.
Downtown Knoxville has really came into its own the last decade! Many restaurants and the Tennessee Theater and New Theater has really given a choice for being downtown! Market Square has several places to eat and unwind! The skating rink and Christmas lights are always a atmosphere of tranquility and nostalgia...Often carriage rides are a warm welcome! Would recommend the springtime views with the Dogwood Arts Festival or The Biscuit Festival...Highly Recommend!
We went hoping to see an open air market. It was not. I am not a shopper so for me it was just another central so area. You would have to go yourself to make a judgement. I would not need to go again.
Market Square has so many restaurants to pick from I wish I had time to try them all! Cafe 4 is my favorite. There is some really cool artwork throughout the city too.
Being a Knoxville native, I will always have a love for my home. There is a lot to do, see & so much history all over the city & county.
Market Square is THE place to go in downtown Knoxville. It is home to a dozen restaurants of various menus and prices, several pubs and sports bars, boutiques and gift shops, and even the cosy Hotel Oliver. During the warmer months it also is home to a very popular Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And it's just a short block off Gay Street, which has more shopping, restaurant, and bar options, as well as the Regal Riviera cinema and the Tennessee and Bijou Theatres, which offer a wide variety of live entertainment.
It was quite the experience. I had only experienced this via television. It was even better in person. The shops were quaint and fun. I bought a t-shirt for my husband, which I felt was a bargain at $20. I can't wait to go back and spend more time (and money!).
We really liked the Market Square area. It has several quality, small quaint shops. It also has several interesting restaurants with usual and unusual food items at fair prices. We say several college age young people at the restaurants.
Tons to do and eat! All good! Many restaurants and local shops to visit. Music events always keep Market Square busy.
We are always delighted with the Square. It is jammed full of restaurants, mostly local. Wonderful food, handicrafts. All are made in America, there is nothing there made in China. We always take our visitors there.
Market Square is located in the downtown area of Knoxville. There are wonderful shops and restaurants dotted along the square. In the spring evenings there are free concerts. The square is a nice place to spend some time with a date or the family. It is a great use of space in an urban area. Market Square is a nice clean area and should not be missed if in the area.
Market Square is a great place to visit for lunch, dinner, and a good night one the town. My favorite area in downtown Knoxville.
This is my favorite location in Knoxville. There are more restaurants and clubs here than any other single place in town. Fun and food and something going on every weekend.
A relatively nice place in Knoxville with bars and restaurants, plus a few retail shops, this square lacks a vibrancy often seen in other cities.
Market Square is the hub for downtown Knoxville and many city traditions are carried out here. Concerts, live musicians, festivals, farmer's market are all tailored toward the family. After dark it's more of a grown up place to visit with restaurants, bars and live bands. Restaurants are local with Subway being the only national food chain. Plenty of shops await your visit and one of Knoxville's oldest hotels -The Oliver-sits on Market Square as well.
