Not being a farmer or raised on a farm I enjoy going to the Old Town Museum. To see the equipment that they used way back when is amazing. Now when you go out and watch them harvest you wonder how they did it back then.

This little city of historical buildings was fascinating. Each had the appropriate furnishings. There were authentic artifacts from the turn-of-the-century. We enjoyed the self guided tour. I particularly liked the display of antique horse and carriage type buggys. The fully furnished Prairie home was fun too. A gem not to be missed.

We participated in an outdoor wedding under the Gazebo. The weather was great and the event went flawlessly. We took the opportunity to view the museum as well as the old town buildings. It was a very nice opportunity to review the pioneer buildings and antiques. The big barn was a phenomenal site for the wedding dinner and reception / dance. A little decorations transformed this into a nice dinner setting, then the tables came down and the dancing began. It was a very nice venue for an outdoor western themed wedding.

Neat stuff but not any different than any other pioneer type museum and kind of pricey for admission.

This was a great little museum. We went on a Sunday when we were driving through the area. We were the only people there for a while. It was very interesting in the old buildings. Many of them were restored buildings from towns in the area and they had quite a bit of history in a small book in each of the buildings. They had a small room which was almost like a war memorial for World War 1 and 2. Very interesting things all over. The only negative thing I have to say is that they need to clean a little more in the outside buildings because there were tons of dead bugs (mostly flys) everywhere.

full of our past. authentic, rare items and definately worth going to learn about how our forefathers and mothers settled the west!

Authentic buildings moved to form a western town- Saloon, jail, blacksmith shop just to name a few. Beautifully restored and stocked. A great walk back in time for all!

We visited the museum during the "Pedal the Plains" bike tour. There are lots of antiques in this rebuilt "old town." It's a bit tricky to get to/find from the interstate, but worth a visit if you're staying overnight in Burlington. The people are nice, interesting, and helpful. Check with the locals to see if there are any programs upcoming during your stay.

Butlington was a convenient stop on a long road trip. Old Town could not have been better for our little ones - 2, 4 and 6. We were the only visitors for most of the time. We started with a massive warehouse filled with antique tractors, wagons, cars, etc... - most of which the kids could climb on. Was hard to get them to go outside. The town was awesome, more than a dozen well preserved historic buildings with interesting exhibits. In the offseason there were none of the performances but did not matter to the kids, they had a ball in the jail, saloon, etc... All well maintained and interesting. All of Burlington was a nice surprise - see reviews for Panadaria and the Best Western.

We love going to the Old Town Museum in Burlington, CO!! We arrived during the annual Harvest Festival during the Labor Day Weekend. There were Can-Can Dancers in the saloon, and street vendors selling their wares. A number of Bluegrass bands were performing as well. It was a very good weekend getaway!

That was a nice treat!!! All buildings are nicely preserved. You literally can go back in time visiting the barber shop or sod house, goods store or railroad depot, saloon, bank or the court house. The collection of the artifacts in every building on the site is quite impressive, especially for the small city as Burlington, CO.

History has always inspired me and like learning about how we got here. I hope my children can have a field trip to here when they are old enough.

I love to visit the collection of old buildings some areas put together. This is excellent. They even had can-can girls perform in the saloon every hour! It is next to the Colorado Welcome Center as you are coming in off the interstate from Kansas so very easy to find. You can take a wagon ride down to the Kit Carson carousel and ride for only 50 cents. A great way to break up a long road trip on the interstate.

Lots of things of the past that will teach you about a simpler time. Well done.
