What can I say I had a great time on the water! I have read all the reviews and all of them were great except for one? I guess the world revolves around some people are just always negative, cannot read directions and they cannot every be truly happy! Whatever their problem was I don't know because I cannot say a negative thing about the trip and staff! I know they cannot control the water due to mother nature being responsible for the water flow but I must say the rapids meet my expectations. I always felt safe with the staff and couldn't stop smiling during my trip. I will definitely go back and enjoy myself with all the rest of the positive reviews and hope that negative Nancy stays far away because I don't like being around snobby people! Thanks again to the staff for such a great time!

I've rafted the Arkansas River three times and the Colorado River twice -- but a trip with Mad Adventures on Clear Creek with my family was the funnest rafting trip yet. Clear Creek offered lots of action, everybody in the raft was involved, and the time passed waaaay too quickly. I had hesitated to raft Clear Creek in the past because I was sure that the Interstate running alongside would be a distraction. But Clear Creek was well below the highway for almost the entire trip, and I didn't even think about automobiles until we got on the bus at the end of the trip. The fact that Dumont is close to Denver was a huge bonus since we live in the metro area. The Mad Adventures location was easy to find, check in was easy, and distribution of the gear was smooth. By the time we had our wet suits on, and had finished up the safety talk, we'd had a chance to meet all the guides that were working that day. I appreciated the fact that every one of them was friendly and ready to laugh -- but serious about what needed to be done to keep everyone safe on the river. Highly recommended. Rafting Clear Creek with Mad Adventures was a memorable family outing that I plan to repeat someday.

Where do I start with this one. Last week we were staying in Granby with family and had two children age 13 and 11. We were planning on booking with Mad Adventures but, the 11 year old couldn't go because she was too young to do the intermediate with Mad Adventures on Clear Creek. So the ladies went with Clear Creek Rafting company. The person on the phone when we called said that the rapids were hot when we asked about conditions. We went out of Kremmling last time and it was slow moving water. We wanted to get some better rapids and that is why we chose Clear Creek this time. The ladies trip rafting was 2 hours earlier than ours so we ended up at Mad Adventures office in Dumont at 1:15 for the 2:30 trip. No one was there so we just hung out for a little bit. About 2 someone arrived and opened the shop. We walked in to check it out and the guide told us essentially to leave and go find something to do because they hadn't cleaned the restroom and needed to run the vacuum cleaner and didn't want to do it in front of us. Ok, so we drove over to Starbucks to kill some more time. We came back and everything started ok. We got our gear and got in the bus. Well I brought my Gopro camera to attach to my helmet and was setting it up on the bus. When we arrived at the launch spot and I was getting off the bus, the guide asked if anyone had a Gopro. I said yes and he told me that I couldn't use it. Really? There was nothing in the paperwork I was given which said this at any point. I was polite and took the camera off. Fortunately the other half of our party, with Clear Creek Rafting, happened to be ending their trip right where we were starting so I went over and gave the Gopro to my wife. When I got back (it only took a minute) our guide Max (I guess I should say Mad Max) was glaring at me and asked if I would get in the raft. (My wife said their guide heard how he spoke to me and said he was surprised how he acted as they work on tips) No problem, I try to give the benefit of the doubt. He continued to seem grumpy for the first half of the trip. He complained about how everyone was paddling but, finally relaxed and got a little more friendly. Near the end, he said something like, I hope you were smiling as that is where they took your picture. Wow, thanks for the notice! No problem again, I was polite and we finished the trip without any additional problems. BTW the rapids were no big deal and it was actually late in the season so the water was low, I wouldn't call it "hot" by any means. When we got back to the office, they told us the price of the pictures and it was $45 for a pen drive with them on it. My brother in law paid for the drive. When we got back with the rest of our group that went with Clear Creek Rafting, they said what a great time they had. They even gave them a disk with all of the pictures for free. When I mentioned that they wouldn't let me use the Gopro everyone was surprised. They said I could have with Clear Creek. I was disappointed to say the least. Plus we paid for pictures and even tipped the not so friendly guide. Then that night we went to Fraser for dinner. My brother in law saw the female guide at the bar and overheard her complaining to her friends about how some customers arrived an hour early and she had to move out of her car where she was sleeping (at 1pm in the afternoon, really??, not like we wanted to wait around). It seems that she lives in her car, sleeping on a dog bed (we saw it on the ground when she took it out of her car), and was disturbed by customers. We were not loud at all, we just waited and even walked down to the creek to check it out. These guys have a lot to learn about customer service. I will not be going back there but, will go with Clear Creek Rafting next time. No only were we overcharged in comparison to other rafting companies, not given any notification that we couldn't use a hands free camera, and then berated for being early twice! We go every year and will not be going back with Mad. I hope that the owner of this business reads the Trip Advisor reviews and realizes what kind of folks he has running the show as they will ruin his/her business.

My husband and I have rafted on the east coast before but our teenage kids had never rafted. We decided to go for the "intermediate" trip with Mad Adventures in Dumont, which was class 3 and 4 rapids. What a blast. Our guide (Will) was a riot and he steered us through some pretty amazing stretches on Clear Creek. Our first rapid was a 6 foot drop and it definitely got our heart rates up! That actually turned out to be the biggest drop on the stretch we went on, but there were a lot of other technically difficult rapids that were a blast to navigate. Our kids are now addicted, so we are very glad they had such a great first experience. The scenery along the trip was also spectacular, and there were small stretches where you could rest the paddle and just enjoy the view.

This was our 1st time rafting and it was fantastic! We had 2 teens and a 9 yr old. The teenagers were both entertained but the level 2/3 was easy enough that the youngest had no problem staying on the raft.

July 18/2014. We have white water rafted many times before but a few years ago the Colorado River disappointed our kids -- it turned out to be a lazy river experience vs category 3 and 4 rapids. So we tried Mad adventures this year on Clear Creek and it was spectacular. There was nothing lazy about it -- we had some form of rapids the entire trip and more intense rapids throughout the trip. What was nice was we launched our raft from where we were -- we didn't have to take an extended bus trip to get to our location. Our guide Johnathon was fantastic. He even took the time to show our 14 year old son what was required to be a "guide". I must say the safety overview was a little daunting for me (made me think twice if I was capable of going) but they want you to be SAFE and pay attention to whats ahead of you while rafting -- and Ladies the change room and bathrooms were impeccably CLEAN -- amazing to have such nice clean change rooms. Nothing like the last tour we were on. Overall a great experience for our entire family and would most definitely do this again.

Our group went rafting on Clear Creek- Class II, III, and IV rapids. The trip was awesome and exciting. Filled with adrenaline. Our guide Alex was the best. She was personable, professional, fun, knowledgeable, and made the trip a truly wonderful experience. We will definitely be back next summer.

As first time rafters, we decided to brave the level 2-4 1/2 day trip! We were well prepared by Max (the most awesome guide ever). Even though I was a little scared, Max prepared us for rafting well and guided us through the river. If I ever raft again, I hope Max is our guide. He is AWESOME! This is an exhilarating experience that is a MUST for anyone visiting the area. However it is WORK (we were sore for a day or two) BUT it was TOTALLY worth it!

We had a great time. I was impressed by ZZ ( he looks like zz top) for his safety information. He is very detailed and precise on safety issues and what not to do. He gets your attention and lets you know just how dangerous rafting can be. The guides are certified and professional. I thought I would just hop in a blow up boat and go. Nope, it's a serious sport and it could be tragic if you do not listen to them. I've been in scouting for 12 years, I've taken many safety training courses and taught Wood Badge. These guys and girls are every bit professional especially our guide Emro. She was wonderful. After the safety lesson you go down by the river where you learn commands and safety techniques in the raft before you enter into the river. You better listen! At one point in the river (class 4) we banked off a boulder and did what ZZ taught and Emro told us to do. If it weren't for her we would have flipped. What a great company that realizes you don't sluff or skim off safety due to money or time. I was impressed! Thanks for the fun y'all!

Mad Adventures provided our group with an outstanding whitewater rafting experience on Upper Clear Creek. Not only was the rafting itself terrific, but the guides were personable, helpful, fun, and safe. In addition, the costs were less than other groups' trips down the same stretch of water. We had an excellent time and will be going back as soon as we can get back out to Colorado. Thanks Mad Adventures!

We had a great rafting experience with Max (minus the mask:)). Our boat had 2 young children and grandma and we all had a blast! Grandma even fell in!! This was our first time rafting and will go back to Mad Adventures for sure. I would highly recommend Mad Adventures to all! Thanks for a memorable experience Max and all the staff!

Mad Adventures was a great overall experience. I have gone white water rafting several times before, but my rafting experience with Mad Adventures was among my favorite. Not only was the staff helpful and experienced, it was obvious that they really had a true passion for their craft. Each guide went out of their way to make the experience fun and help participants excel despite their familiarity or comfort with the sport. If you get an opportunity, you need to check out Mad Adventures. I guarantee that they will be worth your time and money.

I rafted for the first time with Mad Adventures, on Clear Creek. I brought my little sister, who had not rafted before either. The staff at the office were helpful and very nice, they explained everything in detail and went over all the safety and equipment information before we left. Even though the river was really wild and the trip was super exciting, I never felt afraid because our guide was so professional, clearly extremely experienced and capable, and very clear about what we should do. He also made the whole experience really fun. My sister and I both loved it, and highly recommend rafting with Mad Adventures. They definitely deliver on their promise of a fun, safe, well-organized and exciting rafting trip!

I live here in Colorado and I've rafted with a number of companies, from Clear Creek to the Poudre to the Colorado River through the Royal Gorge, and I have to say that Mad Adventures is the strongest outfit I've rafted with. They're extremely professional and experienced, with safety as their top priority. They also know how to have a good time, they kept our large group laughing throughout the entire trip. A good guide should be knowledgeable about the area, entertaining, and above-all experienced on the river, and the Mad Adventures staff checks all the boxes. Oh yeah, and the section of river they run is a blast, too!

My girlfriend and I were visiting from Australia and decided to give rafting a try. Neither of us had done this before but it was one of the best days of our trip. The guides were very friendly and kept everyone laughing throughout the day. I was surprised at how informative it would be and out guide knew so much about the history of the area which was an added bonus. The water was "refreshing" to say the least but on a hot summers day it's a great thing to do. I would highly recomend white water rafting with Mad adventures if you're in Colorado and looking to get some excitement in your life.
