Nick and the Front Range Ride Guides provided the very best experience for us on a short visit to the Boulder area. My husband and I have been road bikers for years but really wanted to try mountain biking. I contacted FRRG on very short notice and Nick was able to make a half day tour work for us. He took care of everything and he was so great to work with. He had great bikes set up and ready for us and his knowledge and expertise are second to none. He challenged us and encouraged us by taking us on trails we would have never done alone. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and he really customizes the tour to your own abilities and desire to learn. This truly was not only an unforgettable experience but also one that I would definitely do again if I am ever in the area again. His rates are very reasonable when looking at what bike rentals are in the area. You cannot go wrong with having Nick and FRRG guide you!
My friend and I did a half day mountain bike tour with Front Range Ride Guides in late September. Nick is an excellent guide and a true ambassador for the biking community in this area. He got in touch with us ahead of the ride to choose a trail that suited our experience and riding style. The trail he chose was a blast. The bikes we rode were in great shape. My friend is new at the sport and Nick took the time to give him pointers along the trail. He is a great teacher and he is passionate about the sport. He goes out of his way to make sure that all of his clients have a great experience and takes pride in his ability to deliver.I have been on bike tours in other locations in the US and Canada. This is the best outfit that I have gone with. The prices are very reasonable for the experience you get. I would recommend this tour to anyone who prefers a tour custom made to your liking with a guide who actually cares if you have a good time.
My 11 year old son and I (his mom) decided to take a 3 day mother-son trip to Denver. I talked to him about several possible activities, and we agreed on mountain biking as one thing we were going to try. While we are both reasonably athletic (and certainly know how to ride a bike!), I was a bit nervous about mountain biking since I didn’t want either or us to get hurt, or to be out on a trail that was harder or longer than we thought. I also didn’t have a lot of time or energy to figure any of it out since we are from out of state. I decided on Nick and FRRG due based on the numerous positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Nick was prompt in getting back to me about scheduling the trip, and was right on time (in fact early) when we met him at our appointed spot a little outside of Boulder since we decided to sightsee around Boulder the morning before our ride. Our ride was great! It was challenging (but not too challenging) for us, allowed us to bond over something neither of us had done before, and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Another bonus was Nick took some great pictures of us with our bikes (and some in action riding) that are a great keepsake for this special trip. I highly recommend Nick and FRRG.
This was our first time mountain biking, so we didn't really know what to expect. Our guide, Nick, picked us up at our hotel (he was right on time, I appreciate that) and we drove to the trailhead. We found him to be very personable. Once at the trailhead, he adjusted our bikes and gave us some instructions. I assume, since we were beginners, that he chose an "easier" trail for us. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was spectacular. Unfortunately, my wife did not care for mountain biking at all. Nick stayed close to her while my 22-year-old son & I went on ahead. The two of us found the experience exhilarating. I highly recommend FRRG -- just be aware that mountain biking ain't like road biking!
We loved everything about our ride with Nick (Guide and Owner of FRRG) outside of Boulder. We are complete beginners but Nick planned a ride that was within our comfort levels but still challenged us greatly! He let us go entirely at our own pace and was great at hanging back with me and giving me additional instructions on how to balance and manage the more difficult areas on the trail. Overall, Nick was just an awesome guy. He was made every part of the experience enjoyable, even those uphill climbs. We will absolutely book another ride with Nick the next time we come out, hopefully with our kids!
Front Range Range Ride Guides took complete care of us for our mountain biking in the Rockies! Nick met us promptly at our downtown Denver hotel and drove the 4 of us to the trailhead. Several of us were beginners and Nick gave perfect instructions on braking slowly, changing gears and staying balanced on the bike while on the trails. Even on our beginning trail, the scenery was breathtaking. We all agreed we were completely safe and we all thoroughly enjoyed the new awesome experience of mountain biking. At the end, a cold locally brewed craft beer really hit the spot. We highly recommend FRRG.
My husband and I booked a tour with FRRG in the middle of September. Our guide Nick, took us on a half day tour outside of Boulder. We told Nick we wanted a tour with beautiful views, some challenge (but not to kills us) and air time. He delivered on all of the things we requested. He also took into consideration that I am not as good as my husband and let him ride at his pace while staying with me encouraging me and sharing riding techniques to help me. We did not have to bring anything other than our glasses, and Nick provided us with water and snacks for the trip. He also took pictures of us while riding and emailed them to us a day later so we did not have to worry about taking pictures ourselves :) We were completely satisfied with this experience and felt it was worth every penny. It was one of the best things we did while in our Colorado vacation. Highly recommend everyone to take a tour with FRRG!
FANTASTIC! That is the first word that comes to mind if I had to describe our recent mountain biking trip with Front Range Guides. Annually a group of us get together for a destination road biking trip. This year we decided to mix it up and take it to the mountains. After significant research we decided to use Front Range as our guides out in CO. Nick was detailed but very flexible and at the right price point. We asked him to map out what he would consider an EPIC trip. They came through in spades! Most of the group were experienced mountain bikers but 2 of us had no experience at all. Nick and team appreciated this challenge and managed to put together a trip to accommodated all levels. The more experienced guys went with a couple of his guides while one guide stayed back and monitored us 2 inexperienced riders and given us pointers along the way. We learned an incredible amount and grew more confident by the hour. I honestly cant say enough good things about our experience. The routes were breathtakingly beautiful. I think I speak for the entire group when I say I wholeheartedly recommend them. These guys know the very best trails in CO and will work with you to ensure you have a killer experience all the while being safe. On top of everything you can't meet a better group of people than Nick and his team Evan, Ryan & Jordan)!
Last month I was out in Colorado for a business trip and vacation in which all I wanted to do was bring my mountain bike from home in VA with me. But then had the sticker shock of what it would cost to travel with the bike. After looking into rental options and trying to meet with a guide I discovered Front Range Ride Guides. Couldn't have made a better decision for my first MTB ride in Colorado where I knew nothing about the trails or terrain.Especially coming from my VA hills to some serious elevation in CO. I have been mountain biking for about a year now and Nick, my guide for the day, was great at setting up a really fun ride after asking me questions about skill level, type of terrain/ trails I've already ridden. He was great to share a day on the trail with and very coaching during the ride and helped me step up my game in the woods, on the trail. Overall a great day with an awesome, friendly dude shredding the trail. Got the CO bug and as soon as I move out there or visit again (whichever is first) I will not hesitate to ride with Front Range Ride Guides again. Cheers!!!
Had the opportunity for Nick and his team to organize, provision and lead a group of 6-8 MTBers on some of the most epic single-track in the state. Professionals from start to finish, they made sure a group of varied proficiency riders were each maximizing their experience while staying safe. From charting a course, organizing bike rentals, shuttling riders...they did it all...we couldn't have asked for better, more efficient and genuine/good guys with whom to ride.
I'm a female leisure traveller from The Netherlands and I was in Boulder for 2 days. With one goal only: to get active! while enjoying the view along the way. Either hiking or biking. I'm very glad I chose Nick for a guided MTB tour. The area was great and he made sure the bike was the right size, adjusted the tour to my biking experience and helped me with a little downhill fear I couldn't shake after a crash last year. I enjoyed the chats, the view and the great 5-6-hour MTB workout. I got exactly what I asked for. It's a no-nonsens tour with a good guide who obviously knows what he is doing. I'm sure next time when I'm in Denver/Boulder or Estes Park I will give him a call again to set me up for another tour, no doubt. On the practical aspect: He picked me up from my B&B so I could leave my car at the residence, made sure there was a snack and lunch, took care of the water during the ride and a drink afterwards. Perfect, this to me, as a traveller alone, was perfect service. Alexandra.
Every year I ride the Colorado Rockies on road bike for a few days with friends. This year I decided to go a day early, book a Mountain Bike tour and see the view from a different angle. Nick was great and his price was right. It was just me and him and we never ran out of things to talk about. He took me to his favorite spot which was 30 minutes away from civilization. The bike was great, the views were excellent, and the ride was exactly what I wanted. Nick let me lead so I could set the pace, but he was great about making sure I hit all the unique terrain features - and there were plenty. He also took pictures and video throughout our half day ride. They were in my email the same night despite his 2 hour drive home after dropping me off. I'll be riding with Nick again next year...and I bet my buddies won't let me do it alone next time.
Was in Denver for a business meeting for only a few days and a couple of us wanted to take advantage of a short window we had to do some mountain biking. I contacted Nick and gave him the details of our trip and let him know what kind of trails we wanted to do and he matched the trails with our ability. Nick picked us up from the airport with the bikes, helmets, packs, water and snacks. We went directly to the first trail and had an awesome time. After the first trail, Nick gave us several different options of trying an easier trail or a more difficult trail. We road a few more trails, the last one ended up outside the small town of Nederland, where he directed us to a local brewery where we waited on him while he road back up to get the vehicle. After spending some time there, Nick delivered us back to our hotel. We had a great time and Nick was an awesome guide. We will definitely us Front Range Ride guides again.
FRRG came through in a pinch. I had limited time and short notice to get a mountain bike adventure in on a business trip to Colorado. They were able to accommodate and make the experience just awesome. They put together a ride experience that was just epic and suitable to my riding level (cat 3 xc racer). I appreciated their patience on the climb as I was not use to the elevation. Nick and his staff really gave 5 star service and an experience I will remember for a long time. I highly recommend their service
I got the mountain biking kick while living in Switzerland, and since moving back to the US have been craving a high altitude mountain biking experience. Nick from Front Range Guides provided that and more. He paced our weekend exactly to our skill level and provided awesome equipment, snacks and guidance. This is going to be an annual pilgrimage for me and there's no doubt I'll be biking with Nick again. Whether you're a hard core solo biker or a family, I have little doubt that Nick will be able to provide you an awesome experience. Right from the moment he picks you up at your hotel, he's helpful, knowledgable, and a great guide overall.
