This is a nice local rec center that recently remodeled and have a very helpful & friendly staff. It has a very large indoor pool and a 1/16 mile walking track. Lots of classes to sign up for and trainers to help you understand all of the machines. They have day care for a fee by the hour. Seniors with Silver Sneakers get in free.

For Senior Citizens with Silver Sneakers program it is the best. No fees to use the facility. I recommend using a personal trainer to learn the settings for the weight lifting machines. I prefer going in the afternoon as there are a lot of classes going on in the morning. One drawback concerning using the weight machines is that some people sit on the machines while talking to other people and tie up the machines. I use the bike for cardio but there are many choices for cardio work out. I have also used Fit Physical Therapy at Carmody and have been impressed with them. One advantage is that the therapist also offers advice on the use of the equipment. Sometimes the technique you are using can cause problems and they can tell you how not to do things or direct you to what is the best thing for your condition. I have also used the massage therapy program so check at the desk concerning the program. I usually purchases three one hour massages for 135.00.

Enjoyed the pool. Has an indoor and outdoor pool. Clean women's locker room. The gym is alittle small. Has alot of activities to offer.

This recreation center has EXCELLENT facilities... the best I've seen out of many, many places. I've been looking for a good place to go swimming in Lakewood & was so happy to have just found this spot! $5 daily drop-in price -- includes 2 pools, a workout area, & any fitness classes you want to go to that are happening while you're there! $61 for 15 visits and I know they have memberships available beyond that for 30 visits, 6 months, 1 year, etc.. and you can check out all those details when you go if you're interested.The huge, BEAUTIFUL indoor pool area has 3 diving boards, large open swim area, and many lap lanes. They even had people there who were taking a scuba diving class and they have so many different class options (even underwater hockey!). This is one of the few places that offers adult swim classes too which my husband was really excited about because he's been wanting to learn how to swim so now he's all signed up for a 3 week session in July for a killer price!The outdoor pool is really nice too, with a grassy area with lawn chairs on one side to lay out in too. Lifeguards on-duty at both the indoor & outdoor pools. The restrooms are very large, with lots of showers and lockers also. And overall, the facilities are just so CLEAN -- it's now my go-to spot! I wish I would've found this place earlier!!! Great for locals, but also great if you're just in town visiting & want a nice pool to go to or take your family/kids over to while you have a nice work-out in the gym!
