Amherst State Park is located off Mill Street in Williamsville between Sheridan and Main. It is behind what used to be a convent turned into senior residences. The park has had some updates in recent years, but has so much potential not yet tapped into. There are some paths that are great for taking a dog for a walk and a shallow meandering creek. The paths sort of fizzle out and become quite overgrown, so you can go to far. he bridge over the creek has been reconstructed. There is also an outhouse at the beginning of the trail. We saw hundreds of finches and other birds as we walked through a field of wildflowers. You will need bug spray!
