If you grew up with I Love Lucy, you must visit the Lucy Museum in Jamestown New York( Lucy's hometown, The museum will bring back many memories both funny and sentimental. It's a good hour or more recalling the queen of comedy with Desi, Ethel, and Fred, The television stage sets and the actual old tv shows and costumes will stir up great memories.

Visited during Lucy fest to commemorate her birthday which is the best time to go. This is a must see for any Lucy fan! Small but will give you great insight into Lucille Ball, Desi, "Fred", and "Ethel". Admission funds the museum.

the Desi Museum is great for us old timers that remember this great couple. Its a great place to visit to see remakes of the old sets and clips from the shows.

A must see while in Jamestown! There are actually 2 museums to explore. And a cemetery! And murals. And a theater.

We made a point of going 75 miles out of our way during a trip to the Finger Lakes Region/Niagara Region of New York State to make a "pilgrimage" to Jamestown, NY to visit this Center which is a tribute to both Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and their much loved and celebrated T.V. CLASSIC sitcom - "I Love Lucy". As devout fans of the show and the antics of Lucy, Ethel, Ricky and Fred we HAD to experience this haven for fanatics of the show. The Center itself is put together with some authentic items from the t.v. show and the lives that Lucy and Desi created for themselves in Hollywood. Not only informative but also very moving. A couple who truly loved each other but in the end had separate destinies. We also sought out Lucys gravesite in this her hometown which was very moving indeed. She had originally been buried in Hollywood but was re-interred in Jamestown in her families plot. The inscription on her gravestone is particularly moving.

We spent an enjoyable afternoon learning about the legendary Lucille Ball. Lots of memorabilia including mock up of film sets, costumes etc.

This museum - modest from the outside - opens up inside into a host of Lucy memorabilia in Ms Ball's home town. It includes sets and costumes, various of Lucy video clips plus information about her husband(s) and children. There are two good gift shops on site.

What is not to like? It was filled with all things Lucy and Desi. Lucy Arnez does a great narrative if you rent to hand held thingy to do the tour with. I think it was 7 bucks to rent.

This place is just plain sad.I enjoyed watching "I Love Lucy" in reruns as a kid during the 1970s as much as anyone, but this place is really a waste.A recreation of some "I Love Lucy" sets, with some lifesize cut-outs. Who cares? If you are someone to whom "I Love Lucy" is very important, like a Trekkie for Star Trek, then maybe there are a few tidbits for you, but for anyone else, skip it.

If you are a "I Love Lucy" fan, as we are, this is utopia! 2 museums, side by side in Jamestown,NY one showing their personal lives and the other, showing their studio sets. I got a great education about both Lucy and Desi and the evolution of their lives and their careers. The cost is $15/person and is well worth it. It takes about 90-120 minutes to go through both museums, and I highly suggest you pay the extra $ 7 for the audio guided tour. It's Lucy's daughter narrating it and she adds a personal touch you just don't get from the displays. Gift shop is a little pricy, $16 for a 8 oz box chocolate from the chocolate factory episode.

Aside from the pure entertainment value of "I Love Lucy," there was a lot of pioneering that went into the production of this show. The genius of both Lucy and Desi were made evident in this museum.

Very nice self guided tour thru two buildings, the Lucy-Desi Comedy center and the Lucy Museum attached next door. One admission price does it all. It was wonderful to look at, remember, and reminisce the good old days from the Golden Age of TV. All the displays are wonderful , including Lucy's 1972 Mercedes! An audio tour package is also available hosted by Lucie Arnaz that is both portable and very nifty! Plan to spend several hours here. Parking is free on the street around the museum. We stayed at the Best Western Hotel just a short walk from the museum. I recommend this arrangement highly! Don't forget to view Lucy's Jamestown High School, and the newly renovated Erie Railroad Depot Bldg. All just a quick walk from the Museum.

this is really two museums. one is her and his personal life and history. one is the business end of the story--movies and tv shows. highly recommended. one admission price for both. two hours should do it.

Just a wonderful trip back into the younger days of comedy on television. The Lucy show was such an icon for the baby boomers and this Center dipict the prop from the stage sets that were exactly like the scene on the "I Love Lucy" and "The Lucy Show". It was very nice to see the costumes and clothing that both Lucy and Desi wore during those days of filming and acting for television. Just so much memorabelia that is displayed of Lucy and Desi also a little history of the characters from the "I Love Lucy" Show, like Fred and Ethel Mertz(William Frawley and Vivian Vance) Just a wonderful tribute to those icons of early television. This is a must see for all the fans and people that live in or neaby the Western New York State area. There are two museums next to each other: The Lucy-Desi museum which focuses on their individual family history and where they grew up. Also how both Lucy and Desi got together and their love before beginning of television together. The Desilu Studio Museum has more of the props, stage sets and filming industry first of television. You pay only one price to see both museums which are side by side. Best buy for your dollar.
