The Art Association's gallery and shop is quite large, covering several rooms and two floors. It has a range of art of different types by different artists. We loved some of the paintings and ceramic pieces but were unable to fit them into our luggage back to Australia. Well worth a visit.

This art gallery used to be housed in the old fire station in Essex. It is now in a charming house that was empty for a few years, except for the mannequins which we could see through the dusty windows. Now it is a beautiful art gallery, with a plethora of interesting items and artefacts. Amongst the array of items are pottery, oil painting, watercolors, sculpture, photography, jewelry and glassware, and even some children's apparel. The house is beautifully lit with natural light. There is also a very posh bathroom.. The gallery is just around the corner from the road that leads down to the ferry dock (or up from the ferry dock). Do not miss this lovely gallery while you are enjoying the other fun things to do in Essex.
