Went here July 4th for the afternoon to watch the Trotters. Typical grandstand seating, really not any bad seats in which to view the races. Comfort on the other hand..., there fold down stadium seats what can one expect. There is a little snack bar that you can purchase the usual hot dogs, soft pretzels, nachos and cheese, french fries etc. Was $5 to get in, a great way to waste away a rainy day. I would go again.
This beautiful track complex is tucked into the center of the charming, picturesque village of Goshen, New York. The complex includes several stables, and the small size and friendly nature of the place make it easy to get up close to the horses. Considered the "Cradle of the Trotter," Goshen Historic Track dates to the 1830s and is the oldest working track in the United States. A National Historic Landmark where trotting legends Messenger and Hambletonian were once shown, the track still hosts races on weekends throughout July. This lovely spot is a wonderful attraction for anyone who admires these noble, magnificent beasts, and is well worth a visit when traveling through the area. Adjacent to the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame.
