I've been here several times. The staff provides a wonderful tour of the house and surrounding property, and gives thorough background information of William Floyd and his family. I don't recommend this tour for children under five because during the tour you must remain on a carpet running through the house to preserve the original quality of the floors.

There is not much at the place except a good hike.Be careful of the ticks. The park in mostly closed except weekends, so call first

Was pleasantly surprised about this hidden historical gem - tour was very informative and tour guide was quite knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the estate. Would recommend a tour for history buffs.

William Floyd is a signer of the Declaration of Independence and his family home is a must-see. The grounds are amazing and the house is preserved remarkably. There are many period artifacts in the house. The outbuildings and waterfront property are very nice. Highly recommend.

The fact that this is a preservation and not a restoration is amazing in itsself. Everything is just the way the family left it when they turned it over to the park system. The history behind this Estate is wonderful. It is very quiet and we were able to get a tour by ourselves from one of the park officials. It is also a place where your kids can earn a passport stamp if they have a passport for US National Parks and Monuments.

Get a free tour- long, but interesting. Walk the grounds, including the little trail and all the little houses. A quiet little gem worth your while.

Not really worth the visit if you have to travel far to see the William Floyd Estate. Luckily for us we live nearby and had nothing else going on. I would say it is just okay.

Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Great history and the grounds are beautiful. They do a wonderful job of keeping the house and grounds looking nice. This is something you should do at least once, especially if you live in the area.

The staff was very friendly here! We went on a slow Sunday so we were the only ones on the tour. It was a lovely estate and highly recommended, especially for the free admission! :)

Thankyou for your review, I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. Beginning April 6th, the grounds will be open on Fri, Sat, Sundays from 10 AM- 4 PM until May 25th. House tours and expanded grounds hours (11 AM - 5 PM) begin May 25th. Would you please elaborate on which program required a fee, if you remember? All NPS programs conducted on the Estate are free at this time.

You can tour the historic house, ride bikes on the extensive trails, and enjoy nature, all in one place!

You might get an idea of what Long Island was like in the colonial era by visiting the William Floyd Estate. William Floyd was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and his estate is a huge piece of the history of Long Island. The sheer amount of land is immense and the history is deep. Visit and find out!
