The Dr. Best house is an under rated establishment. Its rich local history is something to strive for.
Fascinating medical history Of Small town Doctor. TreasurE's galore! This is also part of Schoharie County Quilt Barn Trail. The block is on the carriage house that has beautiful old carriages in it!
The Dr. Best House and Medical Exhibit is amazing! When you step through the doors, you're actually stepping back through time. Everything is lovingly maintained as it was when it was a private home and doctor's office. And the family kept so many precious, interesting things that give the visitor a glimpse into the past. I love to imagine sitting on the front porch, sipping lemonade, watching carriages drive past the house. This is truly a rare gem in Schoharie County and is a must see place to visit when you're in Middleburgh!
One of the coolest places I have been! Ad this and a trip to howe caverns about 9 miles away and it will be a great day guaranteed!
If you are lucky enough to pass through this quaint village, swing by the Dr. Best House. It is amazing exhibit a trip in a time machine to the 1800's. Beautiful home and medicaloffice
Truly a step back in time! You're not sure where to look first as EVERYTHING is original to the home and these folks kept everything. Originally the home of two country Dr.s, Dr. Christopher Best and then his son, Dr. Duncan Best, this historic home is a snapshot of the history of medicine in America. Beyond that, it is a history of small town America from the 1870's through the 1940's. The clothing, the gadgets, the furniture....that kitchen! You could visit 50 times and not see it all. What a treasure! Oh, and they operate by donation only....
This is the actual name. I have been here a few times. Recently attended a paranormal event. To say the least the home is still lived in by the Best family and some others. That aside, the home is all original to the time period nothing has been changed since they lived there and nothing has been added. It is all things they collected and left behind.Beautiful victorian home and medical office...WORTH THE VISIT...
