Since several music acts stop here, we decided to give it a try. Very strange experience but the show was good.

Carol-on-the-Go

A perfect venue for connecting with great musicians of mostly blues, rock, and folk. The crowd and servers are friendly and the micro-brews especially the Oktoberfest that I had are excellent. Arrive when the door opens to get a good seat near the stage, but there really is no bad seat for listening to live music. Mexican food and standard bar fare, available from the restaurant upstairs, is good and not expensive.Get on their email list to be notified of upcoming shows.

On Monday nights from 8pm on acclaimed jazz saxophonist John Richmond leads a jazz jam session night where talented artists from the try-state area flock just to practice their art. Every Monday id different with some nights having vocalists and other not. The best part is the $5 cover with is good for the whole night and no drink or food minimums even though the food from the above restaurant Tequila Sal y Limon is great. Why sleep to the Bluenote or the Village Vanguard when we've got The Turning Point.

I had tickets for a recent event. Coudn;t make it due to a snow disaster being called. I contacted them and let them know. They implied I would get a refund. But the show apparently went on! So far they refused to make a refund. Will keep you posted as to the outcome.

this is a great venue for intimate concerts. the food is good and the atmosphere is cool. just make sure you like sitting close to strangers.

In the quaint village of Piermont, New York sits what looks like a neighborhood bar. It is tiny with rows of long tables running perpendicular to the stage. There is also a nice bar, and you can order food from a limited menu. The decor is non-existing but the place is authentic in every sense of the word. They have the best Blues and Jazz this side of the Mississippi without going into NYC. How or why the owner gets national acts to stop here is beyond me, but I am not asking any questions because it allows me to get up front and personal with my Blues idols. My husband and I started going here about 7 years ago and it's only a short hour away and definitely easier and cheaper than going to see these acts in Manhattan. The town also has some really great restaurants as well. Over the years we have seen, met, got pictures and autographs, talked to, and hung out with Tommy Castro and his band, Debbie Davies, Coco Montoya, John Mayall, Sax Gordon, the legendary James Cotton, and most recently, we were bowled over by Joe Louis Walker and his band of extremely talented musicians and great guys, I might add. There are some high profile Jazz acts as well but we are mostly into Blues. So if you are a Blues fanatic and love to see national acts, you have to check out this place. You won't believe it!!! And the acts that play there don't care if they are playing for 75 people or in a theater performing for 2,000 people - they kick butt with their performances. It is like they are playing at a private party in your living room. By all means, check out their website and go!!!
