This is a Roman Catholic Shrine and retreat facility. It is a great place to go to for reflection and prayer.
We sort of stumbled upon this place at the top of the hill. It is a Catholic Shrine and retreat center. We are not Catholic but enjoyed walking the beautiful woodsy (and fields) area! The shrine itself is interesting - a 6+ ton Madonna that is 48 feet tall stands in a field...Behind is a wooded area with a couple of other little shrines. It's just a peaceful, reflective type place to enjoy and wander about. We enjoyed it!
The Marian Shrine is a great place to get back in touch with the things that are important in life. It takes you away from the surrounding hustle and bustle and blankets you with serenity.Because it is connected to the Don Bosco retreat house is is perfectly set up with many walks and shrines to allow people on retreat to reconnect with a journey to their inner selves. All these facilities are open to the public and usually you have them to yourself. The shrine itself is beautiful and peceful and is staffed by wonderful priests who make the masses meaningful. It is big enough for introspection and small enough to be cozy.It is defintely worth a trip.
Marian Shrine is the most tranquil and peaceful place in Rockland County. You can sit and contemplate life, take a walk around the Stations of the Cross. Visit the bookstore, which has great items to purchase. Just a great place to relax with a love one or by yourself.
Marian Shrine is a very peaceful and spiritual place.
This is a very peaceful place to sit and think. My husband and I had a friend that lived here (he was a priest) and who later passed away and is buried here so we occasionally pay him a visit. Nice grounds and, like I said, peaceful.
We have been going to Marian Shrine for years. There's a breathtaking statue of Mary (like 80' tall!) where you can sit and reflect. Outside altar, large beautiful grounds, view of the Hudson River. Perfect place for rejuvenation and reflection!
