Brown's is one of our favorite spots to go in the Rochester area. We make at least 1 trip there a yr usually bringing our grandchildren...have picked cherries, strawberries, raspberries, apples, blueberries there. Children love the farm activities. Be aware this is not free...but its worth the price to bounce on the bounce pillow, climb the ropes, see the farm animals etc. The ice cream is the best. Helpful hint...They offer a discount for u pick fruit if you are a AAA member. Be prepared for a hour ride if you are coming from Rochester nice way to go is on the lake Ontario parkway.
A fantastic afternoon at the berry farm. The grandchildren had lots of fun on all the activities and especially enjoyed picking out the three pumpkins! A great place to take the kids.
Browns is one of those places that you can not pass up when travelling. Try to pass there in the morning before the crowds arrive for picking apples etc. They have a good selection of local produce and other goods. Their Apple Cider is particularly good and they have Apple Cider Donuts that are scrumptious , and a large selection of pies The Donuts are $6.49 for a pkg of 8 and the Cider is $3.99 for half gallon I also bought a loaf bread which they have about a dozen varieties ranging from Pumpkin bread to Blueberry bread to Cranberry nut bread etc. They are all price about $6.99 The staff is excellent and ample. There is a sampling area if you want to try something first and a gift shop with clothing and lots of brick-a-brack. Enjoy your trip through Amish country and stop at Browns
Ice cream was delicious, unique can and rope relay style to feed goats, fun wooden playground, fresh berries, cute country store....we loved it!
It is just a fun experience to drive out to the country and pick some berries. The prices aren't bad, but there are times you can get cheaper berries in the grocery store. So if you aren't into the experience of picking berries, don't do it, (and come on TA to complain.) There are kids' activities (for young kids), a store with countryish gifts foods, etc. There is also lunch food and ice cream.Bottom line: If the experience sounds appealing to your family, it probably will be. Know that the prices at the store are a bit high, but many such places are like that.
We had a great time at the berry farm. I wish we could have stayed longer. We went Sunday morning and there was no lines or crowds. Staff was friendly and the kids loved all the activities. Pedal cars, bounce pillow, mazes, piney rides, slides and much more. Not to mention picking cherries, strawberries and blueberries. Even the young teenagers had a good time.
Excellent place to take the kids, pick your own berries but get there early in the fall to get the best selection, there's lots for the kids to do, things might be a little more expensive, but there is the entertainment factor to think of and they supply a lot of that.
Good ice cream and nice farm market items but highly overpriced. You will spend a lot of $$$$ here so you are warned.
Beautiful orchards to walk through, berry patches were lush. Staff was exemplary and knowledgeable. Awesome pizza! Country store is a must see! Only negative was the line to purchase tickets for some o the "rides - attractions". We bypassed that for that reason. Perhaps they need another booth? Other than that - go!
Browns Berry patch can be looked in 2 ways as a tourist "trap" and as a country produce and craft stand. What the have is much more than that. Besides their own seasonal produce they also sell culinary treats from around the world. Daily bakery specials such as today's Apple cider donuts help to stand them out from most of the others. Prices are a little higher for the local produce than many of the "stands" in the area but the stands are on the honesty system with cash drop boxes but Browns is fully manned with plenty of staff on hand. It's October so there is a whole room devoted to Halloween decorations. There are quarts and smaller bottles of NY state maple syrup and a bakery section. Enjoy your visit plenty of parking in front and to the far right.
This is a great place to pick up fresh produce and also a very nice variety of gift and household items (I bought earrings for myself!) We had no kids with us, but those that were there enjoyed seeing the animals. Great Family place.
We've stopped for ice cream many times while on a ride. They sell all kinds of baked goods, produce, fudge, and gift items. There are samples of jams and sauces throughout the store. There are animals for the kids too. It's a good place to bring a family.
Great family place. Trained goats Yes I said trained to pull their food up a pulley system from the guest. It's a place to eat burgers, sandwiches, ice cream cones, fresh fruit, u pick fruit. Nice family drive from Buffalo or Rochester!
Generally only get Ice Cream and visit the goats. But the Ice Cream is awesome! The Waffle cones are perfect. we enjoy the goats and petting zoo. The shop inside is nice as well. See you next Summer.
Just down the road from our friends home in Waterport is Browns. If you like to pick your own strawberries in June. Or your pick Apples. In late Sept or early October this is your placeThere also is a fully stocked general / country store though priced a little high for such things as jams and sauces and relishes.Browns also has a line of clothing too with their name embroidered on things such as jackets sweatshirts and t-shirtsA fun place for families to spend an hour to two.
