What an amazing place to see a concert. Definitely took a litle getting used to. We were on top floor or a concert. Everything is in the round, which was kewl. Even walking down to our seats in front of the stage was fun. Sound was great. Would definitely go here again.

Unfortunately we were there at the wrong time of day for a guided tour, but we very much enjoyed walking around the outside and into the yolk! I remember this building being built when I was a child, so it was wonderful to come back to Albany after many years and see the whole Empire State Plaza completed. We had a chance to see inside some of the convention rooms as they were being dismantled from a recent exhibit. A great feature of Albany.

The shape of the building is so unusual (shaped like an egg), but it seems to blend in with surrounding buildings. I managed to see John Hiatt in concert and the sound is just amazing. JH commented, that he loved playing this venue for the acoustics. There is plenty of leg room between seats and perhaps not a bad seat in the house. In the interval there was only one kiosk for drinks and the queue was so long I didn't bother waiting in case I missed the start of the concert..

Not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of room between the rows and great height between rows so sitting behind a tall person is not a problem. Acoustics are great,

We had always heard about The Egg but never been inside. Being from out of town, we were impressed with the ease of navigating the expressways and signage to get there. The parking garage is underneath. There were plenty of staff dedicated to guiding you to the "will call window", restrooms, elevators, seats, etc. The theater has tiered seating which was deep enough that you never had to worry about not being able to see over someone else's head. We attended a show, Britishmania, (tribute band to The Beatles). The spirit of the group was remarkable and they delivered a high energy show. We thought the flow of the performance could have been smoother, and they experienced some pitch issues on occasion. Those attending had a great time and there was even dancing in the seats at the end. The Egg gets high marks as a venue and I would seek out other show to attend there again! I must mention that I would give a low mark for having such a small ladies room (only 4 stalls) and the most narrow, worst layout I can recall. The men's room was adjacent and it must have been so tiny there was even a line for them! The two lines were shoulder to shoulder in the small hallway. It is hard to fathom how the architects created such an impressive structure and completely blew it with this important feature of a public event theater!?!

Very unique architecture - definitely worth a walk around. There's also a museum nearby.Close to other attractions.

Worth a visit, if you are also interested in walking around the historic capitol area. Buildings are a mix of old and new with a large water feature and views of downtown Albany and the Hudson River.

We walked about Albany looking at buildings and statues and came upon this neat structure. Had we more time I would have suggested attending a show at The Egg. Perhaps next time.

Very unique building! Want to see a show here someday. I heard its a good venue to see someone. My wife can't believe it doesn't fall over! She's nervous about going in the venue.

It is a cool building and well worth seeing. we did not attend an event here but walked through as an event was getting ready to start. It is a cool design but very late 60's / 70's. It compliments the plaza well and there are great views from just outside it. Stop by

It looks like something from outer space. It's incredible! It's an architectural wonder. It's so huge!

The Rockefeller Plaza Mall area are well worth a visit. The Egg - a performing arts center - is the most striking structure on the Mall, but it also includes the State Museum and a very attractive set of modern buildings, all in sharp contrast to the imposing State Capital across the street, make for a nice walk, particularly when the weather is nice.

It's just a cool building to look at. Very unique in it's design. Inside there are shows and plays seasonally. I do not believe I have evey seen a building such as this.

Great location for commencement. Just a bit too much walking.Very unusual architecture. Convenient to shops and services.

Not much to it, but if you are in Albany, visit the plaza, see the interesting architectural works, this theater is well....interesting!
