Did the 5pm tour on Wednesday and had a great time. Was a bit apprehensive when my friend suggested we do a brewery tour as I have been on others and found them boring but this was different. Tim was great, informative but did it in a fun way to keep all engaged. Loved the beer, especially the unsung hero beer. Wish we got Brooklyn brewery beer in Australia. The actual tour part into the brewery is short but that was fine as hard to hear anyone as it was noisy as a brewery should be.

I first tasted Brooklyn Lager when visiting a friend in Williamsburg almost a decade ago and was over the moon when it started appearing in local drinking establishments in the UK some years later. It soon made its way to the top of my beer choice, whenever it available.Naturally, I followed the instructions that you find on the neck of each bottle and visited the brewery for a tour on my next stop in Williamsburg.When you arrive at the brewery, you're greeted by the huge distilling vats emblazoned with the instantly recognisable logo. You take a ticket for a tour and take a seat in the beer hall, where you can sample many types of Brooklyn Lager that aren't available in the real world - especially in the UK. The Disney dollar-esque Beer Tokens make it a novel way of buying your beers.The tour is short and sweet and, depending on your tour guide, is amusing and certainly interesting. I've been around twice in recent years and learned different facts about the brand each time, so just because you've done it before, don't shy away from a second tour. After all, it's free!From experience, Sunday afternoon is the best time to go. The crowds are less in volume and the queue for merch is shorter and with the various items on sale, you'll more than likely be drawn in. Be careful, though, they're not cheap!The Brooklyn Brewery is probably my favourite place to visit in New York. Despite the growing global takeover, it manages to keep its sense of homegrown, pre-prohibition product within the walls of the old warehouse. Definitely one I'd add to any New York bucket list.Just keep an eye on the alcohol percentage on some of the specials...

My husband is a beer lover so this was a great alternative to the standard sightseeing attractions that we crammed into a couple of days. We walked over Brooklyn Bridge to get to Brooklyn which made the trip all the more worth it, then took the short subway journey. We got on the Brewery tour which was really good and the guy knew his stuff! We sat and tried a few of the beers and chilled out and it was just great! I hear it gets busy so we got there at 12 on a Sunday and it wasn't too bad at all. Good little trip out of Manhattan if you fancy something different.

I caught the subway over here on a Sunday afternoon as I knew you didn't need to book for the brewery tour. I'm glad i did, Brooklyn was lovely to walk around before and after. The brewery itself was fun, you buy tokens which you exchange for beer, more tokens the stronger the beer. I had a couple in there, just to be polite of course. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable it was a pleasure to visit.

I love beer, particularly ale and IPA are my favorites. Naturally Brooklyn beer is in my beer list. During this winter visit, I stayed in Brooklyn in order to enjoy several attractions. When I entered the Brooklyn Brewery, it looked like a mess open space. But soon it changed to warm place with everybody craft brew in hand. In addition I found out special beers that I had not seen in the shop outside in the US and elsewhere before. Normally I enjoyed Brooklyn ales and IPAs. But this time I was happy to find Brooklyn Local Series (Local 1 and 2) and Kriek! They all gave me different taste from others that I had before. They looked like sparkling wines rather than just beer. I was so pleaded to find a new world at the Brooklyn Brewery.

My wife and I were in the area and wanted to check out the brewery while in Brooklyn. We got there early and were glad we did because it was very busy by the time we left. We tasted a few of their beers and were not really impressed. The brewery is pretty cool and it is a fun place to hang out with friends.

Enjoyed the tour as a family our 7 year old loved it made loads of notes and staff were amazing with her - one of the best things we have done in nyc

The area of Brooklyn where the brewery is is quite far from the tourist path and is quirky with lots of areas to explore. The tours are restricted to 30 people each time. We arrived early and were able to have a look at the little merchandise kiosk. The tour was led by 2 members of staff, a guy who was informative and on hand to answer questions and a girl who was quite frankly loud overbearing and kept interrupting the other staff. She made us do silly whooping and cheering and by the end I had a headache! We were given 4 samples of beer most of which were very limited editions and the process of making and tasting was explained to us then given a look around the bottling and fermenting rooms.

A large microbrewery located in a great neighborhood! My wife and I stopped in and tried some malt beverages. The beers are tasty and tasting room is spacious. It's a nice place to bring large groups and socialize. It feels like an beer garden inside with big benches and tables to sit at. There were plenty of beer slingers manning the taps, so there was never a line to get a beverage. They have nonalcoholics options too (orange cream soda, black cherry, root beer to name a few). If you're a beer aficionado, definitely put this on your radar and pop in. The old warehouse in which it's located is a sight to see in itself.They also have a food truck usually parked outside, so if you need a snack while drinking a brew, you'll be able to satisfy that need.

Brooklyn has changed a lot since I was last there! More open, more pretty, more friendly, and the best new thing is this brewery.Entrance is free, the tours are free, and beers are sold via tokens (1 for $5, 5 for $20, except at the merch stall at the door). Graham, our tour guide, was very funny and happy to answer any questions. He had some great stories about the location and how the brewery was founded. I've been on brewery tours before, but it's always nice to make the effort to see a new one as each one is different. And it was pretty special to get to see where a commercially available beer is brewed.The beers on site just make me weep that we can't get them over in the UK. Most beers are 1 token each but some of the special or stronger ones were two. There was a porter brewed with peppers that was unbelievably tasty. But at least we got to get some to take away (I'm right now drinking the Local 2, and of course it's fantastic). And I was told about a collaboration with BrewDog in the works, so there is hope we'll see some more this side of the Atlantic soon.It's well worth the trip out if you like beer. Get there early, as it does get busy, and eat before you go (although there was a delicious looking pizza van parked outside when we were there, and they are happy for you to bring your own food in). Merch tip: men's tshirts come up a little smaller than you might expect for typical American sizes.

Hardly a micro brewery, but still brews beer with rich flavor.Most of it is done with good spirit in these premises.If you are lucky there is a food truck outside so you can complete your menu.

Went here for a beer or two. We declined the tour only because we've done several in the past & they're all pretty samey but I'd recommend one if you've never done it. It's $5 a beer which you have to exchange for tokens before you enter the drinking area. It's really big inside with plenty if seating on long tables, so good for groups or sharing & talking to other tourists. The bar staff are knowledgable & helpful. Great for a quick pint it a king boozy liquid lunch.

We spent a few hours at the brewery between sampling beer and the brewery tour. The tour is only 30 minutes, which is perfect in my opinion. All of the staff from security to bartenders were very helpful and made the experience more fun. Of course the beer was great but so is the atmosphere. I suggest you get there early! We arrived at 12:30PM and it wasn't too crowded, however by 1:00 it was packed and when we left at 2:00, there was a line of at 50 people waiting to get into the building.

We'd tried to book ourselves on the longer paid tour on an evening but missed out,so we went for the free tour on a Sunday which turned out to be a good choice. The tour itself is short, only half an hour or so, but this is plenty enough, and Graham was an extremely enthusiastic and friendly host. Top marks! Five beer tokens for $20 is a steal, as each one is worth a large glass (two for the very strong ales). The atmosphere in the bar was great as well, we met lots of interesting people and they were cool with our child running around. Also recommend the $3 pizza slices from the van outside, yum!

We were in NYC for one night and made the trek over to check out Brooklyn Brewery (easy few blocks from subway stop). Have been to many breweries, beer tours, etc. The space is great, loaded with industrial character. Beer token system makes it easy to try different styles. Biggest downfall is the blaring loud music. In this environment, there is no need for music this loud where one can’t casually converse. Volume major detractor.
