hard to find a lot to really like about a stick, sone string and can of paint in an empty room. Go to Moma in mid-town to see some fo the best art in the word.

My SO is very much into design as that is his major in university, so he was very excited to go to this museum. I had not even heard of it before, but was open to going. There are several different exhibits on right now, I really enjoyed the Zero Tolerance exhibit, as well as Samara Golden's installation. Bob and Roberta Smith's Art Amnesty Exhibition is a nice idea and is good for young families. I would recommend that everyone who went to the MoMA come to this museum (as it is free with a MoMA ticket!).

Creative and interesting exhibits- excellent outpost of MOMA. Free for neighborhood residents. M. Wells Dinette has delicious food.

MoMA is a rather unique experience. Their providing space to artists to create original work which will be seen on a limited basis provides the viewer with the ability to spend time looking at the pieces and essentially become part of the show. They also have musical events. Get a copy of their brochure and find something you like. There are also many wonderful restaurants in close proximity.

Disappointment, only a few items or installations were interesting for us. We were expecting so much but you must be a fan of this kind of art to spend more than 1 hour

Great place to see contemporary art. No matter what exhibit you encounter it will most definitely be a conversation starter. Summer outdoor installations are always worth a look and the parties aren't bad either.

PS1 rocks ! It's having been absorbed by MOMA has not changed its avant garde appeal,,,Thank God it does not collect the crowds of viewers like MOMA.There's always an interesting blend of mediums. Love M. Wells Dinette too... A great way to spend an afternoon in one of the "outer boroughs" !

When I was there today, I received very friendly greetings by everybody whether by telephone or in person, including but not limited to Zachary B., Manager Of Visitor Services and William N., Senior Visitor Services Assistant and Jenn and Andrea who are their Visitor Services Assistants as well from once you walk into their lovely building.In their building, they had basically three floors that were open to the public which included their basement.Some of the exhibits that I saw included this Optical Illusion which was called "the flat side of the knife" which has a mirror that looks like there is an additional basement downstairs, but there is really Nothing underneath. A Good Trick, Huh!Another really fantastic exhibit was done by Bob and Roberta S. called "Art Amnesty" in which I have Never seen before at any museum in my life whereby they have put aside about five rooms which are dedicated to the visitors of the museum and you can either bring in a piece of a rt that can be made out of metal, paper or plastic, or you can make something up right then and there at one of their available tables and have it posted on the wall. These such walls are totally liberal which means that you can post just about anything that you want provided that you agree to sign their contract which will waive your rights to receive your art work back. Their exhibit will last until March of 2015 and when it is over, the owners of your art work will burn ALL of the pieces that have been donated for their lengthy exhibition and this is their second time in having it at their MoMA PS1 museum.I was simply amazed with that exhibit, including everything else in their various art galleries.I want to also point out that they also show various films throughout their galleries on a variety of topics as well!Last, but not least, they have a very Cool Cafeteria that is in the shape of a school with desks and all of the customers eat off of them. It sure makes You feel young again! Rock N' Roll High School!I more than highly recommend MoMA PS1 to anybody seeking out a Very Unique Art Visualization Experience!

This is a world-class contemporary art museum. Do not miss the magazine store at the entrance, many hard to find periodicals are available. The M. Wells Dinette is the cherry on top.

MoMA is the essence of the bohemian side of artsy NY. Great painting there. Starry Night just one of the highlights Good price. Glad we went.

Offshoot of MoMA often has large scale exhibits of works that are more contemporary living artists rather than classic "modern" works of artists who passed fifty years ago. In the spring and summer there are weekend events with artistic installations, often interactive. Check their website for more info. Especially worth seeing is the top floor sun room at dusk. The roof on this square room rolls back and the ceiling is framed by a lit border so your eyes do not adjust to the darkening sky. This allows you to actually see the color change of the night sky. Worth it.

What's not to love about this museum? Okay maybe the hoards of people, but after a while you get used to it.Thoroughly enjoyed this museum, seeing Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, Matisse, Pollock, Monet and Warhol were just some of the highlights. Make sure to pick up the audio guide when you enter, it's really worth it to listen to the interpretation of the art when you're there.

We went to PS1 Museum on September, 21. Arriving there, we learned that this museum has only temporary exhibitions - and all of them were in preparation! Kind of weird for a museum with only temporary exhibitions to have all of them closed together! But, if we waited one hour, and gave a volunteer donation (?), we could participate in a guided visit to the stairs. One hour, a guided tour instead of a look by ourselves, and a donation, for the stairs? Of course we left, losing our time and the subway tickets. We suggest that other just do anything else.

Well, there wasn't anything showing but they still wanted us to pay. We took the guided tour around PS1 and saw the permanent installations, I think there was five. What made it al worth while was the view from the top of the building.

At first thought when you hear a "rave" at a museum your mind really starts to wander. A unique experience indeed from their 'Warm Up" parties that take place on Saturday's from Memorial Day to one week past labor Day. I went to the closing party and it was an incredible experience. There is a HUGE outdoor space for people to dance, grab a beer and chill while being surrounded by large art structures. You can go inside and view art as well if you want to get away from the crowd for a little while.
