For the time of the year (end of October) still very well kept in shape. Good greens lush fairways. The course does not play very long but has tricky holes, especially the par 5s and par 3s. This even more with the wind blowing severely. Don't play for your score, have fun. It's worth it.
I just played The Cape Neddick Golf Course again this September. It was in great shape and the two nines were very different. The first nine was pretty open and great for a high handicap golfer who is on vacation or is golfing off-season.The back nine is tight and full of character which was a delight to play. The fare ways are wide and have all kinds of rock formations you must navigate around to shoot a good score. There were also a few marsh areas that you had to hit over to be safe. Probably better for a lower handicap golfer. The greens were in great shape along with the fare ways and the after 2:00pm price is also decent for off season. They have a nice bar to enjoy a cold beer in after the round but there was also a cart girl available for drinks on the course. Certainly a nice venue for golf.
Got to play Cape Neddick golf course while on vacation. Booked on Golf Now. The course is short so you can really score here from the white tees but you can play it much longer from the black tees. Greens are a little slower than I am used to. Nice club house and friendly staff. Will definitely play here again.
The course is well-maintained. The back 9 is more challenging than the front, but both are very nice to play. The clubhouse is nice, the people are friendly, and the food in the pub is very good. I love the course.
Made tee time a week in advance for 2:00PM--got a great twilight rate of $42 including cart. Played a great front 9 with virtually nobody on the course--finished in an hour 20 minutes. Sounds great so far. Then we made the turn to back 9--there were literally 6 groups backed up on the tee. Some singles sent off on their own, some 4-somes. It seems that with Cape Neddick Golf Course, Ladies Day is Thursday and they don't send anyone off the front 9 after 2:15 that is not in the ladies group. They send them all off the back...one at a time, no tee times, just show up and go. It seems twilight golf here is not actually 18 holes, it is show up, pay your $42 and see if you can get in a couple of holes before it gets dark. When we went in to complain, we were rudely told to get lost. We felt that since we paid for 18 holes, made a tee time and just made the turn that an hour wait to get off the back 9 was not appropriate. We asked for a rain check or some type of refund for the back 9 and were told that since we started after 2PM that we were not guaranteed 18 holes--anything after 2PM is to just play what you can...no refunds or guarantees despite signing up for, and paying for 18 holes. When we showed up, the pro in the clubhouse was nice, funny and accommodating. There was no starter. When we tried to make the turn, it was like we were at another course. The other guy behind the counter was rude and told us to go away. Literally--just a good bye, leave your cart in line.Stay away from Cape Neddick Golf Course on days there is club. It would have been great in the off season, or maybe early in the morning. By the way--we are locals--I live just a few miles down the road, so it is not as if I was a tourist.
Played the course last week. Online deal for around noontime $35/person including cart. It was a great deal in my opinion. This is an old Donald Ross course that is well maintained. Pace of play was better than expected. Would definitely come back the next time I am in Maine.
Played with my wife on a very quiet Tuesday morning. i was a little upset that we had to go off the 10th tee. Asked if we could play as a twosome since there seemed to be no one on the course and was told by the starter that they were sending everyone of the back because of a mens league that plays at 3:00PM. It was 10:00 am and we were playing 9 holes!? Course was in good shape as were greens. Not a bad day but I don't understand their policies. Not very accommodating.
Beautiful spot for a Sunday morning breakfast buffet. The food was delicious. Even blueberry pancakes!! Service was excellent, view of the course and grounds was spectacular on a sunny Sunday morning! Great food and the price was very reasonable! If you're looking for a special breakfast out, this is the place!
Will not play ths again. The layout and design are utterly shoehorned into the landscape. Greens were beat to hell. Other courses within 20 miles are not in such crap shape so it isnt the weather. Wouldnt play again for free. I am an 11hc for reference and shot an 87.
Well-maintained. Challenging but certainly not overwhelming. Got reservations one day in advance. Played in the fog which really made the course eery at times; and played in the sun which was a heck of a lot easier. Desk people and starter very helpful
