Sample what? Barely enough to sample. Maybe a total of a small glass. Free glass had last years date.probably left over.Tour...haha white wine in stainless, red in barrels and bottling machine a joke.Very boring and not worth $30 dollars.

New restaurant opened at the Winery this year. Staff and management are great, food is superb and a good value. Tired of trudging downtown to find a romantic dinner (and a parking space)? Put this on your list.

Most of the wines are very good, of course everyone has different tastes but overall I think they are exceptional

We enjoyed visiting Newport Vineyards. The vineyards were amazing and the wine tasting was very good as well. We enjoyed the wines here and bought two bottles afterward. Worth checking out if you are in Newport for a few days.

Wonderful dinner at Brix with Newport vineyards wine. Great ambiance with a sitting area by the fireplace, a sweeping curved bar area, a view of the cask room and expert staff.

We visited and toured the vineyard on a recommendation from our son-in-law. It was well worth the trip. We hadn't been to many vineyards and we were interested in the entire process. The tour guide was very informative and made some suggestions based on our wine preferences. We bought a bottle of wine on our way out and enjoyed it that evening at our hotel. We liked the wine so much, we stopped by on our way home and purchased a case to be used as Christmas gifts for family and friends.TIP: If you buy a case, join the "case club". There is no charge to join and you get a 10% discount.

We had lunch at the deli next door and tasted the wine afterwards. This winery has a nice was of doing tastings. For a set fee, you choose 5 wines of your choice to taste. Between my wife and I we tasted (shared ) 10 different wines. This vineyard had about 20-30 wines to tast. There are a few additional special wines you can taste for an additiona 41.

My husband and I took advantage of a beautiful New England Saturday in December to visit Newport Vineyards. We have purchased their wines before, but wanted to know a little bit more about the process. The tour is a reasonable $15 a person, which comes with a glass(real glass not plastic) and a 5 wine tasting adventure. Brandon, our tour guide was amazing! His knowledge and insight into not only the agricultural but the chemical aspect of the creation a great wine was amazing. We toured with a great couple, Henry from Connecticut and his friend Carmine from Puerto Rico. We tasted a great variety of whites, reds and dessert wines and purchased at a discount. This is a don't miss wether you are from out of town or a local.

Newport Vineyards wine is OK for a local wines. The new resturant Brix is worth trying. We have been there 4 times and tryed the Tuna, Short ribs - Very Good, the Scallops and Steak and Lamb - Good, Salmon - Everyone we talked to said the same thing, needs to try a new recipe.

We planned a girls day out to the winery. What a lovely day we had! We took a tour of the vineyard and were shown how the different wines are made. We walked around the grounds which are gorgeous, by the way. We sampled the wines after the tour. We definitely plan on returning as the Vineyard hosts various events during the course of the summer months like live music, food sampling, etc.

from finding the door! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a large selection of both white and red wines. You can purchase your glasses to take home and have a nice souvenir, or just pay for the tasting. We hoped to try their new restaurant but found that it only opened for dinner. Maybe next time!

The Newport Vineyards on East Main Rd in Middletown, RI has spent over a year(and millions) renovating their facility and has recently reopened revealing a magnificent new ... Everything! The transformations are stunning with expansive views from the new restaurant, Brix, of the wine making process via huge windows, new tasting rooms, new layouts, new, everything! The architecture is remarkable, the vineyards breathtaking, the wines very delicious, but it's the restaurant, Brix, I want to review for you. "Brix", the word means the scientific measurements of sugar in grapes that determine their ripeness." Perfect name for a restaurant in a vineyard. And it's beautiful, well thought out with impressive decor, massive beams, fireplaces, windows over looking the wine making process, a bar that is positively magnificent and spans an entire area of the restaurant. With this amazing facility within 3 miles of us, we, 4 of us, were so excited to experience it on a quiet Sunday evening11/2/14 about 3 weeks after they opened. The chef is no stranger to us locals having operated "Golds" in Middletown for many years. (That closed and is now Idas, give it a go, it's good), and there were many locals at Brix that night, as were many of the Golds waitstaff . But, and here's the 'but' - the food wasn't as stellar as the new digs. The menu - which was printed - had- printed- lines thru dishes that were actually described in detail but not available because they were stamped " COMING SOON" ! Why advertise such lovely dishes, then have a thick black line run through it and express its coming soon but not specify when it's going to be available? When you eliminated all the dishes crossed out, and there were too many!!! you were back to the original menu from Golds! Which was " OK" but not anything this new restaurant should be offering. I know many of the waitstaff and they work long and hard and always with a smile and with sincerity. But we were still enjoying our appetizers when all 4 entrees came out .... So we had to scramble moving dishes, utensils, glassware, to accommodate dinner plates. Staff offered to take our entrees back to the kitchen until we were ready but ..... Not trusting that one! Just don't bring us the entree until you clear the apps and please give a few moments of digestive relief between courses. So, here's the skinny ... Newprt Vineyards is worth experiencing ... truly. If you want to experience a casual dining experience within the vineyard, with offerings of so-so good food then Brix is the place. If you want the culinary experience of great food head into Newport. I'm going back to Birx and give them another opportunity to "wow' me. I also hope that after a few more weeks breaking into the routine, the place will run like a fine wine! It just takes time!

Not very helpful in my opinion. We had a coupon for a free bottle of wine with the purchase of two. We bought two full sized $20 bottles, and got a lot smaller bottle of blush wine for our free one. I guess if you are willing to pay to taste them all they are friendly. We only wanted to taste what we wanted to buy. We found another winery (Greenvale Winery) that was totally opposite a few miles away. Free tasting of the wine to help us decide what we wanted to buy, and a VERY friendly woman who told us all about the wines.

The tour is free but tasting has a charge. Tour was about 30 minutes. Wines were very fruity. Some were very sweet. Winery also has a restaurant.

Returned to Newport Vineyards with family after having been there a few years ago. Was raining, so our outdoor tour was cut short, but we had a good time anyway. The woman we had as our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great tastings, left there with a few bottles of our favorites. The Vineyard has expanded since I was there last, having recently opened up a new tasting room and restaurant which I believe is only open for dinner. Beautiful place.
