castle hill lighthouse

The castle Hill Lighthouse was well worth the short hike. The light is on a rocky cliff and is beautiful and great for photos. We decided to have lunch at the Castle Hill Inn while we were there it was a wonderful afternoon.

Gorgeous lighthouse easily accessible via a short trail walk. Very picturesque and in good condition. A site worth visiting.

You can find this in the short walking trail near the Castle Hill Main Inn and the Beach Houses. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset on the cliff. There is a staircase for some photo ops as well. Romantic and picturesque

Follow the path from the Castle Hill parking lot to the light house or if it's foggy, follow the unmistakable cooing of the foghorn to the base of the light house. You can climb around it and out onto the rocks. There is a footpath down to the beach cabanas. The signs say guests only but just go for it.

Traveled up to Castle Inn where the lighthouse it located. OMG! What a great spot. You are overlooking Narragansett Bay at a prime spot. The sun was casting an unbelievable light upon the lighthouse. Light upon light. Incredible.

Very nice short walk to the lighthouse and great views.We were there in the winter and bet that the walk is even nicer in the better weather.

When cruising Ocean Drive GPS this and pull off for a few minutes to explore. Pull up to the valet and ask them where to park for the lighthouse. It's free and the views are awesome. Worth the time.

Loved the food, service and location. It's pricey, but the food is very good, fresh and well prepared. Nice drink selection. We went during restaurant week, so the it was an even better bargain. Definitely a place for a special occasion date night.

If you are willing to wait, wait and wait it is worth it. Wonderful food, great views, lots of history.

The Lighthouse was in a beautiful location atop of a hill, overlooking the water, the Pell Bridge and the beautiful scenery. The drive along Ocean Drive was also spectacular. The waiter was so nice and helpful with dinner suggestions. The manager was also so kind to call around to some local establishments to get us dinner reservations since most of the restaurants had no reservations available due to restaurant week. The food was also good.

Our innkeeper suggested we stop by Castle Hill Inn to watch the sunset. We didn't know there was a lighthouse until the doorman asked us if we had seen it yet. I'm so glad he pointed it out to us. I took some beautiful pictures of the lighthouse while the sun was setting.

The views are beautiful and we enjoyed looking around - it is a must see if you are in the area - won't take long to see, but you could spend time enjoying the waves.

Pretty spot, but a bit difficult to find and fairly unremarkable once you get there. I think the view of the area would probably be better from the bay. Can't go inside the lighthouse.

Great place for a glass of wine at end of day while watching sunset and sailboats in the harbor. Sitting on lawn chair was very restfull.

Best View of the Newport Harbor and Bridge. Grab a drink at the bar and head down to an Adirondack Chair and sink in the best view of Newport.
