The burial site had some interesting facts. But I liked looking at the other interesting tombs, headstones and sites in the cemetery also.
This is the place to be buried. It may have the best scenic view of any cemetery I have visited and Daniel Boone has the best view of all. Very well-maintained park like setting.
Neat place to visit! Easy to find. Because it is kind of on a hill, the view overlooking the river and the capitol building is beautiful!
We made a quick stop after visiting Buffalo Trace. The gravestone was very beautiful and I enjoyed the plaque that accompanied it. I agree with everyone else that the view was stunning! Highly recommend this little spot of heaven!
I lived on the other side of the Kentucky River in Frankfort ..From my bedroom window I could see the majestic monument marking Daniel Boone's grave... When I visited it was so serene !! The scenic view of downtown Frankfort and the outlying hills are just awesome!!!!! It is a must see.. it is just like a step back in time!!!!
A fantastic view out over Frankfort. A well maintained grave (albeit with a fence around it). Easy to find once you are in the cemetery.
Beautiful site for Daniel and Becky Boone interment. Over looks the capital building and Kentucky River. It is such a shame they don't have big signs along the interstate, and on route to the grave site and at the grave site. We like to never found it. Doesn't say much for Frankfort's tourist or historical community.
Great view of the city from the burial site. Many other fascinating headstones throughout the cemetery
We always visit Daniel's dramatic gravesite when we visit Frankfort, and walk around the historic buryin' grounds, which are interesting and beautiful.
Alot of history, old head stones. Really nice view there of the capitol. A recent addition was Memorial of the unborn. take a tissue
We drove up to the grave which is well-marked. The marker is very tall and impressive and is surrounded by a metal border to fend off vandals. The view from the site is amazing overlooking the river, the State House and much of Frankfort.
If you visit Frankfort then take the time to visit The Frankfort Cemetery and stop at Daniel Boone's Burial Site where he is buried along with his wife Rebecca. It is on a bluff overlooking the Kentucky River and the State Capital Building. One of the most impressive and spiritual spots in Kentucky if not the whole country. I have been there several times and it is always quiet and peaceful. It only takes a few minutes to stop and take it all in however you may find yourself spending much more time enjoying the peace while pondering the days of this truly great American Pioneer.
This is our second time to visit Daniel Boone's Burial Site and we were once again impressed with the wonderful view overlooking the city and how beautiful this cemetery is. The weather was very nice that day, so we enjoyed visiting many other parts of the cemetery as well.
The alleged resting place of one of Kentucky's earliest explorers. Regardless of whether or not his final resting place is actually here or in Missouri, the memorial commemorates his spirit of discovery the led to Kentucky being the state is is. The view is amazing and worth a visit if you are in Frankfort.
It may or may not be Daniel Boone in the grave but, the view of the Kentucky river valley is worth it. Make sure you take your camera.
