Other than the water being very cold, visiting Swan Lake is a special week every year. We have friends from Missoula with us and we enjoy their company. Pretty area with lots to do in the surrounding area.

This is a beautiful lake. We used the state park day use area. The picnic tables are all in good locations. There is a rocky beach front, but the rocks are small and smooth, not jagged. The water is clear and very cool (68 degrees on our august day). There were people biking, hiking, boating, and just floating and swimming. We rented a paddle boat with our kids and had a great day. Bring a picnic and enjoy!

Love Swan Lake. Set in the Swan mountains and close to Glacier. Clear cold water, kayaking, canoeing, swimming. A nice little restaurant nearby. Nothing but nature. There is the Swan River across the lake, make sure you go up the river to see herons, eagles and all sorts of wildlife.Go in July and August when it is really warm.

I love Swan lake! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and had a blast kayaking around the lake. Go there!

Beautiful lake, perfect size and never crowded. Quiet, with crystal clear water, great fishing, water sports and easy winds, so you get the breeze but not the choppy water. It is an easy lake to get to. Homes and land in the area are still a bargin/value, for now anyway!! Some properties I saw, have a creek that runs through them. Saw some beautiful, flat, easy to build on, wooded, 1 acre lots in the "Swan Sites" area. One of them had Johnson Creek towards the back as part of the proerty. I was picturing having that creek in my back yard!! Would love to build on one some day because the property comes with lake access, which is a must!!!

I have been here on numerous occasions and I really love it. The folks there, Joe and Jos, are very hospitable and a lot of fun. What I really like is that it is a small place and oozes Montana. The RV spaces are great and I have seen the cabins, which are great also. To get to the lake, you just cross the road and you are there. The scenery is beautiful and the people are friendly.

A wonderful and recreational area that offers boating, fishing, swiming, camping, hiking, all in a beautiful wilderness area. A perfect place to stop and spend time on the way to, or from Glacier National Park nearby.

This place looks so common as you drive east out of Bigfork on Highway 83, but the food is uncommonly good. On some days there is a line waiting to be served, but we wait. They also have a patio in the summer. Breakfast is fantastic and lunch is the same!

The scenery is great and the nearby mountains invite all kinds of activity. With Kalispell's airport and Glacier National Park not far away, what more could you ask for!

This is my FAVORITE lake in the valley, there is a very nice state park where you can load your boat or jet ski, or pack the cooler and head down to the swimming, picnic area. Rarely crowded, always clean, great facilities...very cold as are most of the lakes here. The kids and I go at least a dozen or more times every summer and you do not have to worry about swimmers itch here...if you don't know what I am talking about..look it up...it makes for a miserable 4 or 5 days after you get expose!
