This state park is beautiful! Has wonderful swim areas and great camp sites. So coe for a day trip or stay a while.
My family has been camping and visiting this park for years. The park and lake are beautiful and there are always so many nice people to meet.
We drove through on our way to Camp ASCCA, and it was absolutely beautiful. The trees, the lake, the scenery; I know that I must plan an overnight stay here!
Wind Creek State Park is situated on the banks of the beautiful Lake Martin. The Park offers camping as well as areas to picnic and swim. Fishing and paddleboats are available as well.
Beautiful views and peaceful and quiet. Lake houses were breathtaking and the lake was beautiful. Can't wait to go back there and stay in one of the rental homes or even the campgrounds
My little cousin had a birthday party here last weekend and we all had a blast. The beach has a volley ball net and pavilions lined down it. Grills and picnic tables are scattered about and the park is pretty large so that it's never too crowded.
Went down to Wind Creek State Park with my wife's family and had a great time. The park is very clean. Great place to go swimming with the family and to have a cook out.
Alabama is seriously a beautiful state and this place is one of the best! Lake Martin is the nicest lake we've ever seen and this is the best park!
My family goes here often. It is a great place to camp, cookout, or hang out with family and friends. It is very clean and right on the lake. They do have limited camper spaces with water and electric hook ups so it is a good idea to call ahead during busy times of the year. Our favorite time to go is in the fall. The weather is nice and right around Halloween they have a festival in the park with a hay ride. When we go we always take bikes and stay at least 3 days.
This campground is not for those of you looking for quiet time in a wooded area. This is your typical campground with kids biking, running, & swimming all over the place. Great place for outgoing kiddos. Playgrounds & plenty to do / friends to make. The facilities were large & nice. Plenty of shower & toilet stalls, good ventilation, and the shower water was nice & warm. I only had 2 complaints: 1. the sites are pretty tight & 2. the cleaning crew didn't replace the TP on a busy weekend so we had to bring our own in the stalls with us. Nothing that can't be delt with for a nice place to camp & beautiful place for boating!
The park is big and due to the curving shoreline, there are many lovely vistas and never a feel of being crowded. If my great cooking wife would be willing to transport her magic touch up here .,this would be a nice place to spend a few days.
We just camped at Wind Creek this past week and absolutely loved it. Everything was beautiful and so relaxing. We also took in a little school shopping as Alex City was only about 6 miles away. The only downside is our fault, but we will be purchasing bicycles for our next adventure...LOL. We will definitely be going again in the near future. WE LOVED IT !!! :)
So on a road trip, toke the wrong turn got to Alexander city and wanted to freshen out in the lake over coffee ended up spending the hole day here ,bbq and the hole shebang loving every minot of it Ppl here are super nice really enjoying the vibe
We camped in our motor home at a scenic spot on this beautiful lake. Campsite rental is reasonably priced. Although most of the camp sites are somewhat small, we visited the park the week after a holiday when the park was not very crowded so we were able to get a larger spot with a large buffer between us and the site to our left. My in-laws were on the adjacent site on our right. They brought their bass boat and ski boat so we had a great time on the water. The park features rentals of boats of various sizes, including pontoon boats, for those who want to enjoy the water but don't have a boat of their own. A boater’s license is not required for boat renters. The fishing is good on the lake. My nephew caught several nice sized bass. For those without a fishing boat there is a fishing pier that can be used. The water is relatively clean for a lake, but I chose not to swim. If you do plan to get in the water be sure to wear some sort of water shoe because the bottom was very rough and jagged at our site. My wife and I brought our bikes and did a little bit of cycling. There are paved roads that are safe to ride on if you keep your eye out for larger vehicles. The park has a nice, clean, air conditioned bathhouse. The other bathhouses are clean, but not air conditioned. Overall we had a lot of fun and will definitely come back.
Stayed there last night and concur with previous reviewers comments that it's packed with red necks fighting. One hour after we set up our camper a fight broke out with two guys yelling and a female screaming so long and loud we were concerned she had been seriously injured. Then came the security car with lights flashing, this took up much of the evening. The slothful and inept boys at the check in station went out of there way to keep from doing their job. It's obvious none of them are familiar with the campsites nor the layout of the ground so they keep their rear planted at the desk and send folks aimlessly looking for their camp site. These bozos marked the marina boat launch icons on the huge park map displayed on the check in building with "boat lunch".
