Happened upon this by accident and so glad I did. I plan on returning when I have more time. It was neat having so many replicas in one location. The veterans memorial was very touching. This is a welcome addition to any trip near the area.

This place is a must see if you are anywhere near Montevallo, AL. Fun, educational and interactive for children. Great info and history for adults. Replica of Oval Office and Liberty Bell, Mini Presidential Wax Museum, a Veterans Shrine dedicated to all of America's Veterans and the wars that we have fought. Every building is designed similar to one from our Revolutionary history. A must see for every history buff. Ron (a Vietnam Navy Veteran) gave my son and I a very thorough and educational tour of the Veterans Shrine. His knowledge, passion and love of history made our visit. We will definitely come back.

Step back into Americana with this area of wonderment !!Features the Oval Office of decent, respectable Presidents.....Reagan, Kennedy, FDR, etc. Great for the yungins as well.

I had been wanting to go to The American Village for a very long time, but the problem I kept running into is it is not open on Saturdays - which is probably the biggest downfall for me. However, I finally made it there this week and I was not disappointed. The Veterans' Shrine that just opened was very amazing. Everyone needs to go through this at least one time. It gave me an even bigger appreciation for all of the veterans who have served and are serving. The buildings were gorgeous and very close to the real buildings that I have seen. The reenactors that they had were very educational and interesting - especially the lady who was a nurse in Washington's Army. It made it so real.

We've visited the American Village many times. It is an absolute jewel hidden in a gorgeous country side setting. The buildings built as Independance Hall, Mount Vernon, the White House's oval office and so many more take you there. With extraordinarily talented actors adorning period dress you will hear Benjamin Franklin and others take you back to the 1700's and the birth of our nation. Hear the drum, fife and musket fire and you'll be there. This is a worty venue that all Americans should visit. Take your Church, school, or any other group for this entertaining and educational experience you'll never forget. Be there with your children as they experience our American history brought to life all around you. You will not be disappointed.

Take some time to check out the American Village in Montevallo. You would have to go to New England and the Mid Atlantic states to see all that is here in this compound of buildings and grounds. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. Special events take place around holidays such as Memorial Day and July 4th.

Striking to see a village from that time period in a field as you drive by. Many school groups frequent the attraction to learn about the Revolutionary War times.

Had a great morning tour here. People in period costume bought the place to life. There was only the two of us so we got personal attention. Very informative, especially for the school tours. Loved the Oval Office and the narration by Mercy Warren was absolutely brilliant. Pity they simulated an attack on the British (we're British) but then that's history for you. Great way to learn about history. Could have more going on but to be fair it's mainly aimed at school visits.Surprised it isn't better advertised. We nearly missed it. We're not obsessive history buffs but do enjoy this sort of place like Williamsburg and Plymouth Plantation that brings history to life.

Nice place that seems to be just starting up. Nice presidential office replicate, different building designs. Could use a picnic area, mobility scooters. Don't understand the placing of homes the size of broom closets--other than just decoration.
